They hate us because we're weak. As Osama bin Laden himself said, show a boy a strong horse and a weak horse, and he'll naturally gravitate to the stronger animal.

China is not weak, it is strong, which is while you'll see their problem with Islamic extremists disappear over the next few years while ours will fester and spread.

I am taking the population growth rates into account, it is still not going to happen any time soon. The 2.4m muslims in the UK (the largest group being under 4 years old) have a hell of a way to catch up with the other 58m people in the UK... Any small group can show apparent dramatic growth rates with only small increases, and their population growth rate in comparison to other groups is not likely to be sustained, especially as the highest growth area (kids) is also the hardest to keep (see Christianity) in western society. Of course, I'm sure there is another problem in your eyes with kids of muslim parents living in the UK, even if they gave up their faith...

With regards to the politicians, we have politicians saying stupid things all the time, that doesn't mean they get acted on...

I'd rather live in a land like that than in a land full of hate filled benefit scrounging alcoholic drink drivers who have an unnatural interest in young girls.

Thankfully neither will ever happen though. If it did, I'd move again. :D

By modern day standards, yes, as were the vast majority of the population of both the world at that time (prior to 1875, for example, the age of consent in the UK was 12, which is low enough to be considered a paedophile by modern standards, especially given the average age where puberty began has been dropping)

To judge the situation by modern standards, however, is an example of a historian fallacy.

Most of our culture is taken from other cultures, the lines have become so blurred over time.

Edit, if you were referring to the language, well there are many languages spoken in modern England. We our a multicultural society, and have been for a very long time.
 
Guys.. why all this personal attacks? - its as bad as the bloody riots ffs (not really but go with it). can we not just have a lively debate without it turning nasty?
