Being skinny should lend you better to long distance. You just need practice.

Depends on how old you are:
Its 1.5 miles (2.4km) in under 10:30 for under 30s. Before that you have to achieve 44+ press ups in under 2 mins, followed by 50+ sit ups in 2 mins. All have to be of good quality.

im guessing this is after basic since ive just been in the last hour to the army office and been told by the staff sergeant for selection its the same as stated above with a 800 meter warm up for the run and no pressups and 5 or more pullups also it depends what your going in im shure my mate who went in the signals only had to do his run in under 14 mins, im guessing your times are based on the infantry standard.Depends on how old you are:

Strangely the sit ups really take it out of your legs as you hip flex and pull through your thighs, by the time you get to the start of the run your legs feel like jelly.
That said I still do the run in 8 minutes but you don't win a prize for doing it faster than you need to.
