Derren Brown - outdone himself this time?

hmm:

DERREN Brown predicted those Lottery balls a YEAR ago - but for some reason was too afraid to admit it.
Word reaches me that there was another explanation for his, quite frankly, unbelievable Lotto luck last Wednesday.

While filming an explanation of his trick the next day, he showed a studio audience a piece of film in which a group of kids predicted the six balls.

This was actually on a blog last weekend from someone who was apparently there at the studio audience. It still proves nothing.

he showed a video of 6 different kids picking out the 6 winning balls, which must have been at xmas because it was on oxford st with xmas decs up. Aside from anything about why it must have been at xmas and not last thursday, what's to stop him having filmed 49 kids picking the numbers 1-49 out of a bag and then splicing together the right ones? It's the weakest, most see through and least entertaining explanation, that's the reason it was cut from the friday show's edit

And of course you'd know all this having viewed the footage and familiarised yourself thoroughly with its details.

What a load of rubbish - commenting on the authenticity of a piece of footage you haven't even seen.

You've seen it as well, have you? Or are you going to pull the "I don't need to see it" line? It helps to have direct experience of something if you're going to pass judgment on it.

Whatever he shows, it isn't authentic it is impossible to predict the lottery results. It was quite clearly done using the split screen technique as there's been no plausible explanation for the first ball suddenly moving.

Maybe the balls were too tight in the little container so the other 5 balls pushed it up a bit.

Helps but isn't necessary. It's easily possible to state, with strong confidence, that the content of a video is a trick of some kind, if the mathematical chance of it being real is absurdly small.

All by themselves, at just the right moment to fuel a conspiracy theory..? Unlikely. Well... on second thought, it's as likely as predicting the numbers :)

Wish this would just die down, he's a con artist nothing more.

This.

This.

Unless the lottery was fixed by Brown. Im not saying he did, but a suggestion.

With a name like Lysander I'd have thought you would've stumbled on various explanations of magic by now, what with one of Derren's tricks being usage of the very-similar-to-your-name Losander table :p :)

My theory is that Derren thought he would be clever with the ********* symbol, but people aren't idiots so they soon figured it out. This was cemented after the show was aired when it became seemingly obvious that it was done with a frozen / split screen method.

He's now releasing the 6 year olds footage to claw back his reputation...

If you believe it was real, I have one word for you: Lulz

Do you honestly think Derren is going to say

"Oh noes, you found out it was split screen, I tried to fool you all and now I'm the idiot"

He's more likely to say "pwned."

Tbh, I couldn't give a monkeys if they show that piece of film or not, what does it matter? No one can predict the lottery, anyone thinking otherwise is frankly retarded.
I don't care if was 6 year olds pulling balls from a bag, 24 people auto-writing numbers, LSD laced spiders with pens tied to them. Any proposal that includes the idea the numbers were known in advance of the draw is false.

dunno how he did it but the fact hes stating a group of people can predict a random sequence isnt correct. Obviously it was the theory where everyone predicted the animals weight but that actually has a set answer whereas the lottery doesnt.
