Love Hina is one of those series which seems to generate a lot of polarisation, people either love or hate it. It is fairly stereotypical of its genre but I find it a good watch with the Christmas special being one of my all time favourite animes. I did find the Love Hina Again OVA a bit poor though.

I prefered the anime to the manga but I did watch it first, (I do own both now).

Interesting interview with Yen Press regarding their new release of the Yotsuba&! manga volumes 1-6, (with volumes 1-5 being license rescues from ADV Manga).

I like Yotsuba&! as it's simple, funny and relaxing to read. I have the original ADV release for the first 5 volumes and have purchased Yens volumes 1-6 and have 7 and 8 on pre-order, (volumes 1 and 4 came last week, I'm expecting a delivery of the rest today).

I agree with your comments on Love Hina, it's good but not "oh my god, best anime ever" great or anything. The OVA was fine as it concluded the story somewhat. I hate animes that don't conclude.

By the way, noticed the similarties between a certain character from Love Hina and ed from Cowboy Beebop, same artist?

Doubtful, different artists and studios.

Phew ... finished YUA, a great series all round. Ok the animation is a bit poor by modern standards at times but the characters and stories make up for it. The weakest points really are the DVD covers and boxes which could have been a lot, lot better.

Started disk 2 of Hayate which came today :)

Had a couple of other things come today too ... not that interested in the DVDs as they were in Japanese with Chinese subs, no not bootlegs off the large auction site these are normal R3(TW) releases from a legit supplier .... but I don't want them for the disks I want them for the art boxes :) Picked up one for Genshiken 2, one of Kannagi and a Clannad After Story one to hold the ADV release of both of that story's series. The boxes are the right sizes to hold the R1 release of each of those series and were very cheap, even with shipping.

(although the volume 1 disk of Genshiken 2 does come with an OST CD I'll have to check out ... )

Going to start Clannad and Clannad After Story, never seen them before

Starting to run out of anime to watch, which basically means i've caught up! Epsiode 11 of Spice and Wolf is out now and it's a good one!

If you can appreciate a great story then you won't be dissapointed with Clannad. :)

Im wondeirng if Spice and Wolf will end at 13 episodes this season or whether its on a 26 episode run this time round. It's still as charming as ever :).

I wouldn't say the Clannad story is that good lol. It's loved mostly because of how emotional it is, it will make you laugh and cry (especially cry :o). If you're not one to enjoy having your emotions toyed with then you mightn't like Clannad, or any Key/Kyoto stuff. But I love them. Especially episodes 16 and 18 of After Story. ;_;

Laugh, cry and squeal like a little girl due to the LOLI POWAH of Mei-chan. :D

I don't agree ... the story is very good for it's genre and the series' as a whole are very well put together and paced. Yes at times it is very emotional, particularly in After Story where several episodes destroy me, but it has a lot better balance of emotional intensity and humour then Air and Kanon.

Now just need the After Story TV Artbook which was released last month ... but it appears to be out of stock already at the usual places I use :(

Just watched the final episodes of the current season of Hayate The Combat Butler and Tokyo Magnitude 8.0.

I thought this second season of Hayate was brilliantly funny. I love all of the in jokes :D. The final ending screenshot foreshadows a third series so i have my fingers crossed :).

Tokyo Magnitude was a great little series, as expected of studio bones. I held back manly tears during the final episode. It was kept nice and short which was good. Quality not quantity as the saying goes.

Also started watching Eden of the East which is a funny and quirky little series. I mean any series where the main protagonist is introduced stark naked waving a gun in the air in the middle of washington dc has to be lol.

Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 was great, really moving towards the end. A very nice watch throughout on the whole.

Also yay @ potential Hayate 3rd season! Although I haven't watched the final ep yet (do you have a CR sub?). I'm assuming they introduce Athena in it right, going from the last ep?

Anyway, I just started watching Lucky Star as I think I've finally watched enough anime to understand the majority of the references. Couple of eps in and it's not as great as I'd hoped, though from what I've heard perseverance pays off in the end. Also started Soul Eater, stunningly good animation and visuals. Proper eye candy stuff.

Yeah i picked up a CR sub, might cancel it though as there isn't anything im interested in airing now though. Yup looks like they implied Athena would appear in a possible third season. Tbh its inevitable really. Hayate hasn't done bad with 70+ episodes produced so its definitely popular enough :).

Must get around to watching the rest of Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 ... I think I've only seen the first 6 or 7 episodes so far ...

edit: Finished it earlier ... very nice series with a different ending ...

Just a heads up incase anyone is interested, I've just come across a Death Note boxset for £32, which includes all 37 episodes, which I didn't think was a bad deal considering some companies usually want you to pay around £10-£15 for only 4 episodes of an anime series.

The voices are Japanese, but it does have English subtitles

Completely not worth it, as without the dub you miss out on this moment of awesome:
