Some Scummy chavs have drawn on my door...

The council in terms of the troubled youth - they do have a remit in that area if I'm not mistaken. The IPCC and MP are in regards to the police themselves.

You really do come wading in pretty heavy in regards to these issues Von, and there really isn't the need a lot of the time.

I often get a little exasperated at blinkered and generalising views Nix, rightly or wrongly.

Perhaps I've seen Serpico too many times ?

I can only offer apologies if you believe that to be wading in heavy.

While I can't say that all councils are the same, I can say that from my experiences I find the ones I have worked with to be poor and uninterested in children's welfare.

About 3 years ago I attended a job where two children were reported to be knocking on doors asking for food and when I got there there were two bairns aged about 4 and 7 doing just that.

Their mother had left them on their own while she went out and I quickly found out that there were no immediate family in the area that could look after them so I took them into protective custody / place of safety before contacting the council EDT with the circumstances.

They turned up, with a this is a chore look on their faces, before taking the child straight back to the mother. I also completed a Child Protect form and another one as to why I took the steps I did.

A few weeks later I received a letter from them stating that they the mother had declined to attend parental improvement classes and they considered the matter closed. I was disgusted to say the least.

I can think of at least a dozen other instances off the top of my head where the council's approach to genuine concerns of child welfare have been dismissed and they were quite happy to let the police get on with sorting out what is in their remit in the first place.

When it comes to ant-social behaviour, I have found some councils to be appalling and others to be spot on.

That said, the police are not perfect either.

Perhaps there is merit in what you suggest Nix and I too may be blinkered. As such I will refrain from posting in police related threads for a while barring the application one.

I have said before I almost rue the day that I outed myself on here.

Draw on the little scrotes face with permanent marker, maybe a cat design or something.

In fact, this is the punishment the police should use for little ******** such as these! non violent but awesome in every way.

Brake fluid works a treat for removing graffiti, however be careful where you use it, it strips paint a treat!

see, to me that's the right thing to do, our family had a run in with child welfare people, and it's basically torn the family apart for no real reson, my nephew had an accident, they took him to hospital, welfare got called in, and the one in charge of the case was an interfering *****, constantly changing the rules and spreading hatred between my bro and his wife, making them question each other.

there needs to be a balance of these things, your area sounds way too lax on it, but we've found so many people round ehre, that refuse to open their doors to social, and they just shrug it off with a "done all we can" attitude, whereas our family done everything to cooperate, and got **** on from massive heights :/

as said Isopropyl alcohol is your best bet, doesnt leave residue or damage paint, works pretty well on smooth surfaces, I use it to take off permanant marker and it works really well!

Give them at least the opportunity of an investigation before you slate them.

I know you're a cop and from many of your posts, you seem like a good one who actually cares and takes their job seriously. Unfortunately, many people's experience with the police is lackluster at best. I personally have no faith in my local force as a whole.

Still, worth a shot reporting it, OP may get one who actually cares.

Erm, surely the OP would end up with a criminal record for doing such a thing?

Furthermore, because a child would be involved, the OP could end up with an even more severe punishment.

Or have I taken that suggestion too literally and class this merely as a keyboard warrior venting frustration?

I think you took it too literally, it would be funny though

Or, you know, as a joke? :/
