Really, not impressed at all with these presently. I put 4 on my RS4 last weekend and have covered around 400 miles since and really I have to say I am far from impressed. First off they are very noisy compared to the P-Zero's I had on previously, lots of road noise coming back and it's annoying me. Second and most annoying is their grip levels are simply poor compared to the P-Zero's. I was coming home very early one morning and the roads were clear so I stretched it on my favourtate B road and it was really poor at both front end and rear end. I would wash out earlier and the back was becoming lively when pushed hard.

I have read they take 500 miles or so to bed in so will give them the benefit of the doubt, but if they don't improve they are going back!

255/35/R19 XL is the spec and I was told R is the new ZR, can anyone confirm this please?

It must be very annoying to spend a lot of cash only to see less performance, but do you really think you will be able to get a refund / exchange? Unfortunately, I am pretty sure my local tyre shop would tell me to go!

I am pretty confident I'll get them swapped off, I spend quite a bit with my local tyre man and he looks after me and I don't bust his nutts on his pricing.

ZR just means that it's rated over 150mph. it's still used, usually in conjunction with W or Y.

you tried sportcontact 3s?

I was told that R and ZR is the the same thing, my car sometimes goes past 150mph so I need to ensure R is speed rated high enough, any pointers chaps? I will go back to P-Zeros, they suit the car, wear well and are quiet and solid at speed. I changed because I read how great the Goodyears were on an Audi forum so decided to try them. That'll learn me!

yes, make sure they are (Z)R 19 Y or W

like i said, Z just means it's rated to over 150mph. W is 168mph and Y is 186
V is 149 though

but having a look on mytyres, 255/35 R19s are all Y, so you're good

well the P Zeros are the 'best' according to a german summer tyre test
the F1s were some way down. i think they're over rated :p

If you're going to take them back, take them back quick as my Asymms never lasted, think I got around 4500 miles out of them, replaced them with PS2's and 6 months in the PS2 still have loads of tread whereas the Aymss 6 months in looked decidedly worn.

The last tyre test I read the new style P-zeros beat the F1s to the top spot. I am probaly going to swap from F1s to P-Zeros when mine are due for replacement to see what they are like, it would be good if another tyre test could confirm the results though.

The F1s took about 750miles to bed in on my Golf however after 250ish miles they are 90% at there best. I also found on track days pushing hard they did make the Golf a bit tail happy under heavy braking.

For the noise, have you checked the pressure? I never had any problems with noise from my set but they were piddley in size (225/45/17) compared to yours :)

Hmmm. My Assys have been great apart from the wear rate. Fronts need replacing now after about 7-8k (does include 60 mins of track day which is where most of the rubber disappeared). Been contemplating the P-zero rossos myself, not much more for me. Slightly worried about running different tyres front and back though.

I will play with the pressures see if that effects them. I am running standard Audi pressures which are 38 front and 35 rear if I recall correctly.

This is why I went for 4 new tyres, the rears still had tread on them, though only about another 2K miles.

I was under the impression that the GSD3 was replaced by the Asymmetric over a certain size.

195/50/15s here and they're still available.

Do they use the same compound as the Asymmetrics?

Like I said, mine took a fair while to bed in and felt worse than my Vredstein Sportrac 2's initially, after a while they came good. They do run fairly hot though!
