what are you trying to get at sunama? .
A year ago I would've loved a Pioneer screen, especially given the amount of love they get on here. As already aforementioned, you lot are the "clever" ones. To watch something, "the way the director would want." Yeah, sure, sounds good to me.
After seeing the "LED" Samsung screens the other day though it was like, woah! Now they've sorted the blacks out, well breathtaking. I picked up a 46" bad boy and await patiently for delivery. Well chuffed.![]()
LCD/LED may look good in the shops but most consumer-level ones are rubbish really.
Agreed, they are beautiful. Prepare for a backlash from -Ad- though!
I have seen LED and 'LEDs' in this environment, and for HD TV they seemed to trump plasmas.
LCD's even with LED backlights still don't compete with a good plasma. Sure under shop lights with a HD feed they look great, get them home and watch something with dark scenes and a bit of movement and you will realise why plasma is still better.
Did you read the part I put about certain shops creating viewing areas designed to replicate living room lighting?
I think you meant to call them W.T.F-hifi
Don't take them seriously, it's WHF after all. Check out the avforums reviews and those from hdtv-test.co.uk (don't review that many sets anymore).
Where abouts have you seen this. I still haven't seen any high street stores with accurately calibrated sets (aka not in dynamic mode with colours + contrast cranked) in a darker than shop floor environment.
