World war II games suck now just so many of them. Bring on MODERN games TBH.

No, it isn't £50 for PC.
I don't bother with the SP, however the MP is the best out there at the moment.
Some of you are clearly incredibly hard to please or you simply don't like the COD style.

The mp is consolised crap imo, stackable callins, endless grenade spam, people bouncing all over the place like tards, regenerating health, barely any recoil on all but the heaviest weapons. Ive seen people get 90+ kills JUST by whoring out callins.
On larger servers it seems that people get more kills by randomly flinging grenades about the place than actually pointing and firing at someone. TDM mode is a complete joke with its retarded spawning system (which has pointed out earlier has been in place since cod1 and still not been fixed), and the other round based modes usually turn into camp fests that remind me far too much of counterstrike.
I've asked the question to the PC moan brigade 1,000,000 times but never get an answer.
If COD MP is just a dumbed down, console FPS where there is no skill level, just kids grenade spamming etc what can I play online that is superior and aimed at a PC market?
I would really like to play this game.

Probably the original cod and expansion, bf1942 back in the day was also tons of fun, mohaa same thing. And for the record in terms of gameplay id say TF2 dumps all over cod4, just because the graphics are cartoon styled doesn't make it "for children".

Wonder if theyve actually fixed the TDM spawn..OH but thats right the spawns have been broken since the original COD, something they said would be sorted in a patch..years later we're still waiting. Dunno what the fun is exactly in spawning and geting raped by someone waiting around, or as it sometimes goes you shoot someone and they spawn a few feet behind you for a cheap kill....
I hope I can actually connect in this one. I was plagued with "downloading game settings" in COD4, then it popped up again in COD5, along with a host of other problems.
I wouldn't say anyone's moaning in this thread, just giving their 2 cents.
A good online fps? A fair few would say the Battlefield series, although the bunny hopping can be majorly annoying. ARMA2 is a pretty good one to try too, a little rough around the edges but a great experience if you can look past its few faults, with continued support it could be awesome.
TF2 for children? Think i'll not comment on that
Aye, most probably, i think there's a fair chunk of people who'd want to try it before shelling out, not that i condone it ofc
Its a shame we see less and less demo's over the past few years.

Ive never been a fan of counterstrike either so congrats on that one
.The callins in cod4 were beyond stupid, the whole fact they were stackable led to massive spam of callins. There were times in some maps were all you did was spawn and die without being able to move. Other times all you could do was spawn right in front of an enemy and get drilled before you could do anything.
Same thing goes for grenades, seems that in quite a few maps all people like to do is spawn and toss grenades around the place leading to cheesy kills. Ive seen occasions on servers where kill after kill was just attributed to grenade spam.
And if you seriously don't know how regen health and reduced recoil are consolised additions then i think you need to go familiarise yourself with pc shooters pre xbox 360.

Tbh i really can't think of a 'groundbreaking' game since HL1, although my memory is pap so correct me if im wrong
Im not a hater of the latest COD series, its just i can't see much difference between them and say, the COD2 era of FPS's. A few have made small steps such as Bioshock, but no huge leaps from what i can remember.

Eh? I aint talking about the ww2 ones i said modern combat 2 looked more or less same as 1st one tho has faster walking which i like but not paying just for that. And yes to someone who said look at vids i have seen one, looks identical to mc1.
