Well since Ive read allot of posts about people not going out and basically being geeks and now allot of my mates have gone to uni. Ive decided to try get a ocuk meet going (after seeing the thread) around The Middle of the Country (input appreciated) to get together and go to a weatherspoons/pub with no music then a few clubs after 12 and see some ocuk members. I'm thinking in around 2-3 weeks.

Three rules.

1. Under 18 ? do i need to bother telling you that you wont get into anywhere without id ?

2. Have some clothes that a reasonably clean and "in"

3. don't come dressed as a spartan

So basically anyone who's been in there bedroom playing wow for the last 4 years, this is your chance to go out :)

please, creative input.

edit. btw this is only gonna happen if we get 10+ people coming.

so you want to go out clubbing?
how pointless, unless its an end of night thing after food and some bars where you can actually talk to those people you are out with.

Couldn't agree with this more.

Perhaps meeting up earlier for a couple of drinks, and then going somewhere for a meal, followed by a few more drinks. By all means some of you could go clubbing afterwards, but going to a club where you can barely communicate, with people you don't know very well (and are likely to forget their faces!) doesn't sound ideal.

If there was one close to me I'd go for the meal and a chat, but not the club.

A club is an awful place to get to know people.

ok a weatherspoons etc till 12 then maby clubs ?

also ive just realised the reality of this happening is slim

Make it a popular club in the middle of the country and everyone has equal chance of getting there.

Some where like "The Emporium" in Leicestershire or Gatecrasher in Sutton Coldfield

I say we plan a night to go out with all our own mates in a club in London and be happy with the fact there are other people around you that surf the same internet forum as you - and if you see someone you think you recognise, we'll make a secret handshake and give each other a polite nod across the room :p
