Words fail me!

Rofl at all the appalling, disgraceful etc... posts, erm hello, this is the UK, its normal.

Nothing wrong happened here. It's sad that people want to believe what the BBC put out, and sad that people can't tell they're being told half a story. Read the quotes from the Independent. The old woman was charged because she wouldn't stop hitting a kid even with the police telling her to stop, and then wouldn't admit guilt later so they couldn't caution her.

...hope the kid dies wtf is the point in harrasing old people with rocks, shoulda punched him XD jk
that really bad by the government POV, disgraceful

Yeh! Maybe she poked him twice!

This thread is displaying that most people here won't read.

"Mrs Bowling had emerged from her house and was seen by the officer to be shouting loudly at the 17-year-old boy and using abusive language.

"The officer then saw her assault the boy by prodding him in the chest and grabbing hold of his clothing.

"She was given a number of chances by the officer to stop assaulting and verbally abusing the boy. She didn't stop and was then arrested.

"There was no evidence that the boy she assaulted had been throwing stones at her house or had been involved in any provocation.

"As Mrs Bowling did not admit the offence initially, it was not possible to caution her for the matter. There was no criticism from magistrates about the decision to prosecute."

Police officer not being that for the stone being throwed isn't proof it never happened, nor is a kid likely to own up to it. Likewise, Assault is a harsh word for someone who poked a kid and held him by the clothes. I would probably be reluctant to admit i "assaulted" someone purely for poking someone, especially if the kid had thrown rocks at my house.

Infact the BBC's version, sounds much more believable to me, as an independant unbiased person not involved, I can read both stories and decide for myself which sounds more believable.

Her being done for assault, is moronic, the likelyhood the kid was throwing stones, IMHO, is very high and so my opinion is still that its ridiculous and in complete keeping with where our justice system is going these days.

Silly Little Boy.
Shame it doesn't have the closing statements from the judge, I would have loved to have heard them.

I imagine the judge would say
"As much as I have sympathy for you, Mrs Bowling you did not obey the instructions of the officers, you wasted police time denying something the police watched you do, and you ended up wasting courts time with something far too minor to be here"

Whatever you do, do not vote for the major parties next term. The country needs to be shaken up and the only way to do that is to vote for UKIP or another independent party.

If Labour or the Tories get in... emigrate!!!
