Basically, definitely!, absolutely!, at the end of the day..

Some of us pedants will say that 'decimate' means to reduce by one-tenth and not, like, wipe out altogether.
I console myself by saying the usage now means reduce to one-tenth.

Kill everyone who uses "literally" as an emphasis word.

Example:

(For a person describing their experience on a rollercoaster).

"I literally **** myself!"

No you didn't. You mean you were afraid. You didn't literally poop your kegs.

I'm an arse when it comes to this word used in the incorrect context. I usually annoy the person by reminding them of the difference between 'figuratively' and 'literally.'

Take a big deep breath, and release.

Seriously, if people using the english language poorly is the worst you lot have to stress about then life must be pretty god-damned wonderful :)

Literally

Ant

Guilty as charged of using several of those 'phrases'. I've tried to moderate my use of them since I noticed how much I was using them.

That thick (but rather attractive) judge on Strictly come dancing uses terrible grammar: "you was really good". I mean come on, someone at the BBC needs to teach her how to speak.

I think her name is Aleshia.
