Someone set us up the bomb!

Yeah it just pops out of the side. Just like I did before I popped in my £39.99 250gb a few months ago. simple ;) why didn't MS think of that ? :o Oh wait, they did think about it but ....... (£$)

Doesn't back everything up though iirc.

You lose some stuff that is stored internally on the ps3.

I knew it came out, just thought it needed formatting for the new PS3, unlike the 360.

mine died with the E74 error last week and was approx 2 years old. It's back with microsoft now and they seem to be repairing it with no issues.

Luckily, i keep a spare 360 for times like these!!!

I had a day off work a little while back and was all set for a day of gaming when I got my 3rd RROD 360, that was my last one. The timing is always a kicker, it's like it knows when you really want to play something.

Internet is not so clear on it, hope its true, my launch 360 died from RROD and never bothered to get it fixed still have it in the loft, 2 360s in 4 years :/

why not just try fixing the old one, i fixed my out of warranty launch one by re-applying thermal paste, removing clamps from the back of the heatsinks and replacing them with some screws and washers and has been working fine for over a year now and took about 30 minutes to do. It doesn't work on all errors but If it's just been sitting there you've got nothing to lose by trying.

Will give it a go, seen some kits on ebay for a few quid.

yeah thats what I did, got a kit form ebay for a few kit with the screws/washers and hex keys you need to open it up included, came with a guide as well, followed that and it worked fine.

I had the same problem. Rang up microsoft and said i had the E74 error, they explained the error is covered for 3 years and had a new console back after a week.

It's out of warranty.

Edit: Or apparently not, it's been more than 3 years since launch hasn't it

Wait are we talking about the original one or the one in the loft?

The one that has just failed. I'm confuzzled. Anyway he looks like he's doing it properly anyway :p
