If True.. Oh Dear Nvidia!

I am glad i just bought an ATI card...:)
If they are out some other compeditor will enter the fray, no doubt taking a lot of ex-nvidia employees on board, hopfully leaving the shady managment behind.

Dunno - anything that Charlie writes about nVidia is generally to be taken with decent pinch of salt.

Hope it's not true though. If it is - intel had better hurry up with larribee.

After playing batman on my 5870 and finding out how NV and the developer have completely crippled ATI performance with that game, my resentment towards NV is even stronger.

Erm... Just looked at Charlies main page.

The previous article was entitled:
Nvidia will crater GTX260 and GTX275 prices soon

Shortages are completely artificial

Make up your mind Charlie...

Take note of what previous means.

If it's true, then it obviously means that the previous article no longer applies.

Very sad if true. I like competition, it helps us with performance vs. pricing. Nvidia has been doing a lot wrong the past few years and has pushed a lot of its friends/partners away. Even if it isn't true, they aren't the company they once were and it certainly isn't good for the competition.

Good news imo, no company deserves to survive when they are solely aimed at ripping it's customers off.

People acting like a family member has died..........get a grip:rolleyes:

Just about everything in pc gaming costs too much, decent pc games are very rare now. Whole pc gaming scene has been screwed for quite a while, they have got what they deserved.

Sad thing is, some sad gits will be crying over this news, might give them a chance to smell fresh air outside. Step outside, big world exists fanboys;):)

I would find this very hard to believe. Nvidia have already confirmed that fermi will beat Evergreen, ok it'll probably be more expensive, PhysX, Cuda all in there. Doom-mongering.

I just looked at another well know place and they not even one 285 gtx left instock

So this could be true...

Overclockers GTX range are mostly out of stock or down to single figures.

I think the problem is that consoles are just too good for most people to justify a high end PC to play games (as my sig says, I have both and have spent a lot more on the PC.) A high end graphics card is a very specialist thing that most people wouldn't entertain buying. It's a very limited market. PC gaming would need a big jump in performance to be viable to most people and then would need the games to back it up. All my PC does most of the time is play console ports that run 110% as good as the console version but at a hefty cost. Yes they do look better but MOST people wouldn't pay for it. It's strange really, as time goes on, consoles get more like PCs (online gaming, hard-drives, patches etc) and PCs get more like consoles (games for windows branding, universal xbox360 controller support and errm, console games) High-end graphics cards would have a chance if there were games to back it up rather than console ports.Yes there are some PC exclusives but there are a lot more PS3 exclusives as far as I can see. Most games are made for consoles and the PC version is an unoptimised port because the developers know that you will subsidise their laziness with upgrades.

Imagine a normal gamer who has a PS3. His only thought is seeing a game he wants, buying it and playing it. Imagine then saying to him "why not buy a PC for £5-600? (don't forget case, PSU, windows, DVD etc) "you can then play the same games but with added AA and textures". "well actually, no you can't play uncharted 1 or 2, LBP, MGS4, Everybody's Golf, Resistance 1+2, Killzone 2, GT5, heavy rain, even sing star and rock band etc etc.

There arn't any good PC games coming out! that's why these companies are stopping production! Just because Nvidia have left the market, it doesn't mean that they have lost.

when sc2 and diablo 3 are released I think we will see a renaissance in pc gaming, it is still very profitable, games like wow and sims show that there are huge numbers of pc gamers out there. Yes i know as sais it is unfortunate that pc games are leaning so much towards mmo's but there will be nothing casual about sc2/d3 and i am sure we are all expecting sales for those titles to be off the chart

His sole purpose is to dig up bad news on amd/ati, either true, rumour, or just completely made up. Sounds a little like Duran.

and when was the last time i did that? well never. on the other hand how many similar threads have popped up about nvidia in the last couple of months? dont ask me to do some digging, go look for yourself. ocuk forum is developing an anti-nvidia popularity which is mentioned on other forums as well. OCUK people that care about their business should take some action. letting people spread misinformation that turn away potential customers is not smart.

Oh yeah, fermi that they demonstrated...

That card was so poor it's not even funny.

Solder points didn't match up, you can tell that the card is basically a botch up using old hacked up cards glued together.

You can even see that the PCB it's using has been cut down at the end.

It's obviously a long card that's had the last 3-5CM chopped off the end, you can even see they haven't bothered to remove stickers on the board, they've just cut right through them and to top it off, they place a backplate on the card that blocks off the SLI finger. The backplate itself though makes me suspicious, it's like it has been placed there to stop people from seeing the GPU solder points as that'd be the biggest give away that it was a fake.

I'm having doubts that fermi is in any state ready to be released in early 2010 to be honest.

Do you object to anyone being anti-nVidia? Don't you think they more than already deserve it?

This was directed at you by the way:

There really are some idiots around here who can't bare to hear anything that isn't positive said about nVidia.

Duran, go away please.

When people who go "lawl ATi is teh suxxor, they can't even rite driver is like and they are hardware never work is properly" (yes, that is a dig at people not being able to use punctuation properly)

call people who say "I wish nVidia wouldn't play so dirty" fanboys, you know who the deranged mentally challenged people are.

People who complain about nVidia very very rarely mention them in comparison to ATi, yet STILL get called ATi fanboys, this logic completely fails me.

Care to respond? Or are you going to play blind again when you can't think of something sensible to respond with?

Wow sucks (if the ops article is true), havn't been in the market for a graphics card for ages but times sure do change, nvidia were doing pretty well back then if I remember correctly.

Oh well
