'Classic' games you just can't get into

I just cannot stand left for dead. Tried so much to like it, but just can't. The gameplay is just so, so simple. There is no depth to anything. I get that it's the point, it's meant to be silly and arcadey. But that just isn't my thing. I want powerful feeling wepons, down the sights aiming and more realistic accuracy.

Oh yeah, on a similar note I cannot get into TF2 for the exact same reasons. It just seems silly, what with cartoon graphics etc. I vstly prefer realism in the environment in shooters, multiplayer or otherwise.

I wish I'd played Deus Ex when It came out, I can remember seeing the box on the shop shelves but I never bought it, got Total Annihilation and Half-Life instead :)

Lol, see this is more like it. He bought two of the best games of all time and STILL regreted not getting Deus Ex.

I just wish I'd completed Deus Ex before I started reading spoilers (that applies to most games actually. I should stay off gaming forums).

I went through most of the game not realising that most of it could be tackled differently and it was only through talking to friends that I realised that they'd experienced whole chunks of the game differently to me.

you see, i was fully aware of the openess of Deus Ex , i love RPG's in general, espically first-person ones. But i STILL couldn't get into it.

Just because a few magazines and a few fanboys here harp on about it doesn't mean it should be above approach.

I must admit I still haven't finished System Shock 2. Got it for free off a friend a few years ago. The problem is I want it to be Deus Ex and it feels quite inferior :(

I bought bioshock, let's hope I get into this time.

I also bought witcher enhanced and Dead Space. I love dead space on the 360, I think I'll love it again. Only £8!

I played deus ex when it was out i get why people think its good and why its considerd a classic by some. I also understood you could play it a number of differant ways.

But at the time i was playing games like quake, unreal, and team fortress all on online. going from them fast paced shooters to something like deus ex made it hard to get into for me at least.

I still have it and i might give it a try, i'm jsut wondering whats the most fun way to play the game.

If you wanted a game like those then you were playing the wrong game.

Sup Com for me, my mates love it. I just find that you spend most of the time zoomed out watching dots move around the map. Not my idea of fun, I love watching the battles in COH, DOW or DOW2 gotta be in the mix, not watching dots firing lil dots at other dots.

Any and i mean absolutely any FPS at all....i suck at them to the point that i almost cry every time i try a new one.

It seems that i have the worst reflexes in the world, and the worst thing is that i really would like to enjoy them.

Spore was also amazingly carp.
