Ok, having just finished the single player campaign, I thought I would post back with my final thoughts (Go Jerry Go Jerry!)

This is PS3 by the way.
AI
As I said in my first post, the team mate AI is nothing short of terrible, however, I found this to be less of an issue has I put in the hours; but maybe this was down to me knowing the faults and working around them?
I understand from all the dev stuff I watched prior to release that everything your team does is based on some official military document, but from what I’ve seen in the game, this must be the official Cannon Fodder guide or something, as your team will always pull some stupid ****! But I understand that this is a computer program trying to follow these guidelines; shame the AI is too stupid to really play it out though.
Gameplay
The gameplay is still pretty clumsy, but as this is a bit of a simulator, I can live with it, at least it’s not as clumsy as its predecessor; the insides of buildings are far easier to move about for example. Weapon switching could do with a little speeding up though!
Sound
I really liked the sound in this game, everything just sounded right, but the speed of sound worked much better in the original Flashpoint.
Graphics
Pants! If I’m honest, I thought these were pretty poor by today’s standards; I wouldn’t put them that higher than some of the graphics found in Flashpoint, hell even some fan made mods for Flashpoint give better textures etc iirc.
The more I play the game, the more it seems to me that this game must have been designed for the original Xbox, and never updated for the 360/PS3 - one good example is your team mates…. where are their faces? Standing right next to a guy you can’t even make out eyes, it’s just shadowing, and things like this is a ‘next gen’ game are very poor.
Overall, the game runs very well with all the action playing out, but with such poor textures, I guess there’s no strain for that sort of thing to drag performance down – I appreciate that it would probably take a decent PC to have this level of performance with high res textures, but giving us texture this bad
Jerry’s Final Thoughts
To summarise the game in one word – “disappointing” would have to be my choice, the game is far too short, and whilst you do get quite a bit of action and enjoyment for your money, I don’t really see this as decent enough follow-on to Flashpoint, in the same way that Far Cry 2 wasn’t much of a follow on to its predecessor (imo) – where are all the missions where you get to drive a tank or APC, or fly a chopper or jet?
I wouldn’t recommend this as a purchase to anyone, a rental for certain! I think I’ll give it a run through on co-op next, then it’s off for a trade in.
Scort.
