**The Dragon Age Origins Thread **

Indeed, fantastic cinematic. Looks mid game too - very promising indeed.

Love BioWare, they haven't failed yet. I'm still playing Baldur's Gate II for gods sake, it's just over 9 years old!

The 6th is the day before I get moneys! WOO.

But the 7th is the glasgow meet >_> Just order it online and get ... to deliver it. :D

I've seen a fair bit of the lead-up to this game, and I was set to buy it as sson as I could get it for £20 or so - £25 if I really believed the hype. Now I'm gonna preorder it, no matter what the price. Brilliant graphics, sure - what game doesn't have stunning visuals these days? Old-school RPG, I sure love those. Clearly a committed project by Bioware, so no worries about persistent critical game flaws and expansions are extremely likely, so all put it up there on my 'games to own when I get round to it' list.

What really sold it to me? Lightning bolt to the face. Problem solved.

Never played the original Baldurs Gate or Neverwinter Nights and diddnt really enjoy the second one, plus it seems im only just a wee bit over the minimum specs for it!

I'm not being funny, but you should really play Baldurs Gate 2 if you haven't. It really is a genre defining piece of work... and not just in my opinion. It's so long, and so immersive. So many quests to pick up (or ignore), people to talk to, relationships to encourage (between characters).. and the lore... oh the lore.

Grab the widescreen mod for it, and give it a go. It's what, £5 now? Give it a bash.

Gonna try Drakensang... is it top down or 1st person?

 I have to say I really could not decide if I should pre-order it or not. After that statement I am deffo going to buy it.

I think its about time I had a good RPG to dive into :)

I disagree, has the distinct look of trailer about it. However, this close to release it's almost certainly gonna be representative.

I'm glad I helped. A lot of people get too caught up in unimportant details, and skip the bits that really make a game enjoyable. Electric face death has me following Borderlands too.

Hmm makes me wonder why they bother releasing actual ingame videos when all they need to do is release a trailer like the SW:TOR one to get people to buy the game.

The being knocked out rather than dying of party members is not a good system for a proper rpg game. Fine for Mass Effect, not so much for what I thought Dragon Age would be.

I'd recommend starting with a modded Baldur's Gate. That is also a great game.

No doubt it is equally as great, but I think BG2 is more accessible for someone who isn't necessarily a fan of the genre :)

Going to get Drakensang and Pre-Order the normal version of DA:O i think!
