Was it posted from abroad?
RM usually states a month before claiming; until December as seller claims seems excessive. It should be his responsibility to refund you/resend you another as soon as the month (if it is a month) is over.
Remember, after 60 days you can no longer claim from paypal / ebay.
Am I right in believing he should send me out a replacement, and then he can sort out his issue with RM. I'm sure as the buyer I shouldn't have to wait until December to maybe get a replacement item. :/
To ensure you are covered you must:
Purchase the item on eBay using PayPal
Use the 'Pay Now' button when the listing closes on eBay or associate a PayPal payment with the eBay listing by entering the item number during the Send Money process
Ensure the claim is for tangible, physical goods that can be posted and are not prohibited by eBay or PayPal
File a dispute in the ‘Resolution Centre’ within 45 days of the payment. If the dispute can't be resolved, ask PayPal to investigate by escalating the dispute to a claim within 20 days of the date the dispute was opened
Be willing to provide information during the investigation process. If we are unable to obtain the necessary information, the case may be cancelled without a refund
Only open one dispute per PayPal payment
Really? 60 days from when? From the time of sending? If so, then I think I'm probably already past that as delivery took 3 or so weeks on it's own.![]()
Sounds a bit like me this morning (only Citylink this time)
Called a company to see where my parcel was - it was posted on the 23rd of August.
They say 'Citylink tried to deliver on 28th August' and carded letterbox.
I say ' I was in all day 28th and no card here.'
They say 'Here's tracking number'
So I phone Citylink and after eventually managing to find the tracking number and delivery details - 'Yes we tried delivery on 28th and you weren't in'
I say : 'Yes I was - as I was sick - so where's the parcel now?'
Citylink say : 'Well we can check with the drivers now as they take a photo of your front door if they card your letterbox'
I say : 'That's good - what sort of door is it then'
They say : ' Brown - but drivers picture is a bit blurry'
I say : 'And how many windows does it have then'
(seeing as the door is nearly all glass with two massive windows'
Citylink say : 'Can't see any windows in the photo'
I say : 'Well the front door on this house is nearly all glass - in fact two big massive plates of glass'
Citylink say : ' Maybe he tried to deliver to the wrong address'
I say : 'But you just told me my address and name'
Citlyink say : 'Yes - maybe it was the wrong house.....OK - will you be in tomorrow'
I say : 'Yes - the same as the last 7 days waiting for this parcel to arrive'

(vii) Items sent by 1st Class, 2nd Class, Standard Parcels and Recorded Signed For™ are not classed as lost until 15 working days after the due date
From PayPal? It's 45 days - not 60 - from date of payment. You're well past that.
RM states that a parcel from abroad is not classed as lost until " 3 months from date of posting"
That sucks really.
We will only handle claims where the item was posted with Royal Mail. If an item has been posted with or handled by another postal
operator, or sent from outside of the UK, it will not be eligible for compensation from Royal Mail. Royal Mail is not obliged to pay
compensation where the conditions of posting or the terms of its services are not met, e.g. all valuable items, including money and
jewellery, must be sent using either Airsure® or International Signed For™ services. There are also restrictions to sending items such
as cash to some destinations, and items must be packaged in line with Royal Mail guidelines. We are unable to accept claims for
delayed items of International mail.
When to claim We allow 20 working days for items to arrive at European destinations and 25 working days for the rest of the world,
so cannot accept a claim for loss unless at least 20 or 25 working days have passed since the item was posted. All claims must be
submitted by the sender within 6 months of posting the item.
*If claiming for the actual cost of items that have been damaged or have part of their contents missing, you should provide the original
packaging and item. However, if these are very large or unsafe to post you may provide photographic evidence - but please don’t
dispose of the originals as we may need to inspect them. We also recommend that you photograph the item and packaging before
posting them to us. If all of the packaging and contents are not provided or retained, compensation may not be paid.
Try and remember the person you spoke to is not the driver. They have no idea if the driver has been to the wrong address. They confirmed your name and address from the consignment details, doesn't mean the driver actually went to the right house and unless they know what your house looks like then they won't realise it's the wrong one from looking at a picture.Citylink say : ' Maybe he tried to deliver to the wrong address'
I say : 'But you just told me my address and name'
Citlyink say : 'Yes - maybe it was the wrong house.....OK - will you be in tomorrow'
I say : 'Yes - the same as the last 7 days waiting for this parcel to arrive'

Seller does say he'll get compensation from the postal service he used, regardless of whether RM lost it or not. Which sort of makes sense.
If I posted to say, Italy, and I know RM website says parcel left the country but never made it to the recipient, I'd claim off RM and not the Italian postal service.
If so, depends what are the terms of the Taiwanese courier. It may well be December if he's not lying.
