i would do mate but i dont have the sort of money that is needed. only thing i would be doing to get more power if i wanted to is sports cat, manifold, remove silencer from back box, induction kit and remap

actually it wont be an extra 10hp be like 15hp+ depending on what stuff you get. Im not considering it just said what you need to do. Just like i thought people are taking it the wrong way like normal. I dont have the money for it and thats why im not doing it. If i did have the money for it it wouldnt be any different then lets say you buying something you didnt need but wanted surely?

haha thats not even the correct car you idiot. Thats a MK2 and is completely different. The only thing its got in common with mine is that its called a Yaris. you might as well got any other Toyota or any other car cause its got 4 wheels and an engine.

Also i might be 22 but insurance is still expensive and so theres no point is saying that at 22 years old that i should have a better car in your opinion.

That's just the library image the news site used.

The news is that "yaris" is the most searched for car on that gay auto-trader clone.

its the most searched for cause its the best lol (Joking)

They are reliable though so thats why its probably the most searched car

Well the mk2 had a common fault with something cant remember what it was. Whereas the MK1s are pretty reliable. A bit tacky inside but its Jap so thats what you get. Plus they are good cars for a run around. Cheap to insure, reliable, cheap to run and if you want to you can move the back seat forwards and backward for more boot space.

Fair enough! It's the same reason why I never tuned my old Rover, the K4 was difficult to get more power cheaply, didn't end up being worth it. Turbos were rare on those too. Insurance doesn't help.

Was just showing an interest in case you did go down that route.

does anyone else have a problem with this sort of thing?

If someone set up a straight persons autotrader clone, it would be shut down in minutes!

I do usually, but I'm not really bothered about a random website! Pubs/Shops/Services like insurance, definitely!

well if i do i will post it oh here so everyone can take the mic out of me again to make you all happy that you can pick on someone who has a different car and thinks differently and who wants to do something different instead of buying a new car cause believe it or not i did a insurance quote as if i turbod my car and the rest and it was cheaper than my buying a Golf GTI MK5 and insuring it.

Basically Golf GTI mk5 £7000 + £1000 insurance = £8000
Yaris with turbo and other things £4500 + £500 insurance = £5000

Thats just to let people know why i MIGHT NOT be getting a faster car cause its more expensive

Bah, read the whole thread hoping for it to be full of lolz. I'm disappointed, just a load of people trying to belittle 2 proud owners of lightly modified cars which imo are quite tasteful and not OTT (subjective I know).

Yeh everyone knows BD10NNF's car isn't fast, but it must be quite fun to drive about in. Yaris T-Sports are comparatively light to most modern super mini's, 100ish bhp isn't a lot but it's enough to have fun trying to squeeze every bit of performance out of it on a run.

Agree with FF's post, people need to get perspective. Yes the guys are 22, not exactly old though are they? I'm 20 with a modified MX5 and pay similar insurance and perhaps I don't go on about its performance but I probably come from a different background.

I dont think its the car thats really got people going its his attitude to it. Comments like 'Parkers say it has 103bhp but mine has 105bhp' and 'I raced a Golf diesel and won' just invite comments.

If it was just him telling us about his car without that sort of post it would be difficult for anyone to have a pop yet remain credible IMHO.

This is the wrong forum to use the excuse 'He's young!' given none of us are old and most of us were not driving Clio 1.2's at 20.

Yeah, good luck with that! :D

Thats not now, its just a rough quote in 2 and a half years time when im 25 for the insurance. Plus i know people who can fit the stuff for basically nothing cause ive done favors for them.

Its not likely to happen but one day if i have the cash to just do what i want with then i would consider doing it.

And like ive said parkers figures arent always correct. It says a 306 Rallye has the same 0-62 time as the GTi even though its a lighter version.
ALSO
The Toyota Corolla T sport with 180hp has a 0-62 time of 8.1 even though ive spoke to owners of the car that say its not its does it in the same time as a Civic type R.

So dont believe everything parkers tells you thats all im saying about that.

We had a Corolla guy on here I think it turned out that they just have an inferiority complex over a car that just isn't as good as a proper hot hatch so tend to get a bit carried away.

Sure that wasn't a T-Sport Compressor? Then I can understand. If it isn't then it's BS as the Corolla is heavier and less powerful.

They are one of the best selling cars in the world and I have seen how quick the Corolla T sport compressor is which is the supercharged version with 215hp and that blitz a Civic type R so i think that the normal T sport Rolla is just as quick as the type R. Theres was a vid on the where they test a clio 172 i think, a type R and a rolla T sport. And the rolla gets to 40mph i think before all of them and that it has the best brakes but overall the Civic is the better. Buts thats a different story for a different time just dont always take parkers seriously thats all.

its not the compressor heres the link http://toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=102391

This is a bit of a con though as the 'Corolla' is infact many completely different cars all with 'Corolla' on the back.

If Ford decided to call every car they make all over the world a Focus then they'd acheive a similar accolade.

Corolla is the biggest selling brand. The compressor has only 15bhp more so I really struggle to see how anything is going to get blitzed.

Gearing has a lot to do with it, to 70MPH the cars are identical.
