England game only available on the Internets - **Spoilers**

Yet Heskey who doesn't score, doesn't get assists and regularly falls over is almost a certainty for the world cup squad.

Having said that, it's only Belarus and everyone knows only goals scored against the top 10 teams count so Crouch doesn't actually have any to his name.

Crouch's general play isn't very good and he's not a very good footballer. Of course scoring goals against crap opposition means less. You think if Shola Ameobi dropped down to League 2 and starting banging them in he should play for England?

Keep Heskey-Rooney up front and Crouch out the team and we'll do OK at the WC.

Yet he doesn't score... ever.

I think you must just rate strikers that don't score. Maybe it's supporting Newcastle that's done that to you? :p

It might have had an effect, yes. :p

I just think you've got to pick your best team and not your best players. Heskey seems to allow Rooney to play better which is massively important given that Rooney seems to be our best player (at international level).

Not that impressed with Lennon tonight. Didn't get a lot of the ball but didn't seem willing to make any runs and create space for himself.

Edit: Crouch :D

I thought that Lennon played well to be honest; looked better than Wright-Phillips anyway, who did absolutely nothing aside from the goal (which wasn't much more than a tame shot which the keeper should have saved).

For me Lennon should be our 4th winger, behind Joe Cole, Milner and Beckham. That said, if we're playing what looks like Capello's preferred formation, it looks like Gerrard will come into that class as well.

I really don't understand how Beckham got man of the match? Was I watching the wrong channel?

I think coz of his vaguely being linked to the second goal... tho he was reading the game well and directing play forward a lot more than anyone else - while putting in half the amount of effort they were.

He didn't seem in the best of fitness - was mostly knocking it on the moment he got it and still sweating it out... Wright-Philips deserved man of the match imo.

Steve Bruce gave it mostly due to him lifting the team in the second half, Beckham always lifts the team. I don't think he was unfit or tired tonight, just because you could see sweat on him doesn't mean omg he is so unfit.

Beckham was suprised he got Man of the Match, so was probably everyone else.

Crouch, Barry were candidates for man of the match.

Wright-Phillips was playing in a position he doesn't like nor can really play well in, but I don't think he played particuarly well eaither besides the 2 points I said.

Crouch's record for England is amazing.
16 goals from 17 starts lol! Imagine of that was Rooney... I think people would actually found a new religion :D

You're going on ignore along with any other clown who thinks Heskey should play for England.... I reckon you'll be on your own then :p

Personally thought England where pretty terrible considering the opponants

Crouch was useless with his head, and first goal was pretty lucky

For 5 - 10 minutes after the goal and for the last 20 minutes of the first half England barely saw the ball, and we where lucky not to concede

Johnson was pretty good (a couple of really good defensive tackles, and a really good mazey run in their box, but the really awful shot seemed kinda typical (despite his Liverpool form currently), his general offensive play is decent but against better teams I would be concerned about him at the back

I thought Barry was ok but nothing more - we let them through the middle far too easily imo in large sections of the game, there where a few good defensive tackles and attacking passes but I really expected a bit more (at home to a team 70 FIFA places lower)

Rio looked ok, better than Saturday (not saying that much I know), still highly dubious he can cope with the remains of the season and the WC without missing a lot of games - but we shall see

When they where on together I actually thought Lennon played a lot better than SWP, I know the latter was on the wrong side but even so, the goal was great but pretty flukey (bad g/k) - Beckham was surprisingly good when he came on, there was a lot more cohesion with the team

Ben Foster did ok in goal without that much to do. One briliant save and then a couple of dodgy decisions (which could have meant a loss instead of a win against a better team) which he got away with

Without Gerrard and Rooney England really dont have a clue, and like last night might well get a win but it will be far from convincing

Personally think Steve Rider was right - Joe Cole and Owen Hargreaves , IF they can get optimum fitness back are two who should definitely get onto the plane, and are big bonuses for England to hopefully look forward to

Thankfully we've got a straight thinking manager and Crouch won't be in the first team.

Crouch has scored over a third of his goals against Jamaica, Andorra and Belarus. Those teams would stuggle in the bloody Championship.

Rooney is the only world class player England have (who shows it at international level at least) surely our tactics should be set up to help our best player? Or alternatively we could play Crouch, knock Honduras for six in the group stage and then get embarrassed when we play a team with players who play for club teams we've actually heard of.

I would still like to see Owen get fit, play reguarly in the premier league and make the England squad next year.

Probably wishful thinking though.
