There are many more harmful chemicals in a fag than the city air.

Anyway. It's dumb comparing the 2. It's the principle that counts. I don't think he should have been sent to jail though. He's not dangerous. I think he should have been made more useful with community service and a huge fine instead of being put into prison where it's going to cost 1000's to keep him :confused:

should have just given him community service or something productive, instead of wasting more money housing and feeding him for 18 months just because he gave someone a fag. Yes, it was very, very irresponsible but there are much better ways to handle it than 18 months in jail...

yeah taking his kids off him and a restraining order.

I hate he bigger thing. If A crime warrants prison then they should go to prison. In his case I think it is a big offence and does warrant a prison sentence. I expect the reason he got 18months is this sort of thing is on the rise and it is a warning to others.

Not THAT addicting though, I always accept a smoke when someone offers me one, and when going out with mates I can easily smoke 5 or 6 fags within an hour ( as they offer em to me)... It doesn't make me want to go out and buy my own at all, and I never will, way too expensive for what you get... I never feel the urge/need to smoke one.

Nicotine not that addictive? That's quite a groundbreaking bit of research you've done, better get that one published. Oh wait, your sample consists of one person. Back to the drawing board.
