Very much so.
But I bet 99% of people are saying hey dislike stuff just because hey have had badly cooked or frozen mush. I bet 99% of people would change here opinion if they tried some properly prepared and cooked food. especially things like blue cheese, aubergine, veg, chinese, indian.
There's so much variety in them. Like people saying blue cheese, but they like normal cheese. There are lot's of mild blue cheeses.
Aye, I think a lot of it goes back to the fact that home cooking isn't the same over here as it is on the continent. There's a disconnect between what people see on a plate and where it comes from, and a lot of people are wary of trying anything that isn't breaded and shaped like a dinosaur.
Indeed - I think a lot of people go through that stage, but too many people (and I don't mean to be rude to the Brits) in this country are so boring in terms of new foods owing to their lack of exposure to other cultures. I mean this in, an unfortunate way, not a degrading way. Some of us have been very lucky to have lived around the world and brought up in an environment were gastronomical diversity was rather large. However this brings me on to exactly your poing of "won't" like. The most maddening thing ever! You have an opportunity to open your pallette up to new experiences yet you give yourself a pre-conceived idea that you won't like it... why?! :/
Good on you though for pushing the envelope and trying new things.![]()
Indeed - as a nation we're just rubbish!
I'm really not picky at all when it comes to food and will try ANYTHING at least once. There is a few things i absolutely despise though: Broccolli, Liver and Kidney but the worst of all that i wouldn't eat even if you paid me £1,000,000: BLACK PUDDING! **** that.
You seriously wouldn't take £1,000,000 to eat black pudding?
