The .zip's there now. Time to sleep now... someone see if it works before the morning? :)

It's done :)
I'm going to install W7 on this puppy tomorrow.

Just open the 1819_firmware_update.ISO with Winrar. Extract the firmware for your drive, e.g. CT128M.exe.

Format a bootable usb drive and stick the CT128M.exe on that and boot from it. Run it from there and that's it.

If you want an app to make a bootable usb drive and the DOS files needed go here > http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=197

Or use a command prompt, either way the final drive should look like below.

Are you doing an SE before reinstalling? Think I will do...

What an utter pita that was getting from 1711 to 1819. It works though.

  • Boot from Windows 7 install IDE mode on another drive, UAC off.
  • Backup M225 install with Acronis Home 9, Bit for Bit, free space and signature selected.
  • Delete the M225 partition, run CTXXXM225_1571.exe
  • Select the right disk and run, wait an age and panic it's hung.
  • All ok back to 1571, reboot from USB disk with CT128M.exe and install 1819.
  • Restore Acronis image and check partition is 1024MB offset.

I'm in two minds whether to enable TRIM or not, I'll leave it for now.

fsutil behavior query disabledeletenotify , 1 means TRIM is off.

fsutil behavior set disabledeletenotify 0 , would turn it back on.

i dont get it...
do i just put the .exe files from the iso in a usb stick and it will autorun?

Put the .exe in a bootable USB drive, boot from it and run the file.

yeah what do you do I boot the cd and it just calls me a banana

full error device driver not found "banana" - sick of it

put disk in laptop same shi7 - any legends got some news on this?

You mean no drive found? You have to set the drive to IDE mode to be able to update.
