Where the Hell do the Years go?

Although I think I look okay for 36, the grey hairs are starting to arrive more regularly. I'm plucking/cutting them out, but the tide is turning!

I often see clips of old-ish telly programs or remember songs from like 1992, and I think, 'I was nineteen then, it doesn't seem so long ago! And I didn't even appreciate how young I was..'.

My mother-in-law lives life to the full after health scares years ago, she's always away on holiday, and she said something that makes me very aware that TODAY is the day I should do something significant and memorable.

I can't remember quite what was she said, but I understood the meaning. :-)

I'm not quite sure why I suddenly feel this way - perhaps the realisation my baby is soon to be a teenager is bringing home to me the fact that I'm mortal and my time here is limited and fast diminishing?

Discuss. :)

Granted deep for a Sat night - but good idea for a thread :D

I recall giving one of my office clerks a lift home (we live in the same town) when we passed a neighbour of mine waiting at the bus stop, I waved in recognition, she waved back as we passed and I thought that was that.

The girl I'm giving a lift home to says "I take it you know her then?"

"Yes" I reply "We've lived in the same street for years"

Then she says "I was in the same year at school as her daughter"

Suddenly brought home to me just how old I was, I remember when "her daughter" was nothing but a bump

lol 21 Oh man oh man if you feel like that now wait until you're heading for 37 :(

Already there

I'm 18 in less than an hour and feel older. Oh dear.

My 22 year old cousin just bought a ticket to india and flew out. He arrived on wednesday and has posted a quick short blog to me and a few other close relatives. It's hilarious, I think he would make an amazing writer and he sounds like he is enjoying himself so far. I envy someone with the boldness to do something to unconventional!

wow, I'm gonna be 17 soon, feels like only yesterday I was painting my LOTR warhammer when I was 12(?) ... can't believe how fast time flies... FFFFFFF I'm gonna be dead soon :(

I'm 21 and yeh the years do fly by. It's pretty scary! But saying that, this year has been an absolute blast and I've enjoyed nearly every second of it. Onwards and upwards I say!

24 last week. time does seem to fly by, it is deffinetly a case of less new experiences = time merging into one.

I blame it on work, I have been here now almost 5 years, that is longer than 3 years at uni, 2 at 6th form and as long as high school.

Time to move on perhaps apart from I was only promoted last year.

I think I need to just make the most of my time off and go on holiday more and for longer so I can get into it, so it isn't just the same 1 week on the beech and 5 nights getting drunk. perhaps even a girlfriend instead of watching TV and playing computer games... I am more adventurous than I was at 18 but it still feels like I have done it all before because lets be honest there isn't really that much different stuff to do.

I think a Skiing holiday would be a nice change, not done that for almost 10 years!

My favourite album, and my favourite song, I love chilling out listening to that track but it is a stark reminder of how fast time moves and I can relate to it on many levels, I honestly can't believe I am the age that I am, I don't think I'll ever fully 'grow up', my dad never has, he is 70 and still loves to rock out playing electric guitar ****ing the neighbours off, goes clubbing now and again, plays PC games, has a crap load of hobbies, he recently got really excited about picking up a cheap steering wheel and peddles for his PC :D.

You've got bigger things to worry about than time flying now, you are soon about to have a teenager on your hands, enjoy! :D

Meh. - She's had the attitude of a teenager for a good while already alas..... :( :D

Cheers for the reply's
