UK Boarder Force - What a joke!

I'm in agreement with the Australian system. Do all checks at the border and if they don't like the look of you, then on yer bike.

I'm not anti-immigration at all - I just think the UK system is an utter joke. Even when we do try and repatriate someone, their home country rejects them and back they come. :/

One thing that really gets me is how the hell they pass through france and how every many other counteries before arriving in britain. Why cant the they be sent back/cought in other counteries?

+1 for some sort of poisonous gas in the vents of trucks. Or maybe vacuuming out trucks after loading, or even locks... Would instantly stop a fair few of them coming over

I watched one where a Pakistani gentleman was stopped for smuggling over 10,000£ worth of cigarettes in several suitcases (with his wife).

Border patrol checked his previous travel history, and found him to have made several trips in the last few years.. each time staying for 2 or 3 days before returning home. He had no answer to their claims (that he was a regular smuggler)

Anyway, they explained that this was unacceptable, considering the blatant abuse of the allowance per person. They also explained the potential loss of hundreds/thousands in VAT and refused entry to the UK.

As soon as they began to arrange a return flight home he changed his tune to "my life is under threat, I simply cannot return or I will be killed". As soon as they heard this they granted him asylum

Beggars belief..

I can't help but feel there is more to this daft immigration system that meets the eye. How is it possible that countries like Australia, Canada, America and most other European countries can get it 'right', but we just cannot seem to get a hang of this. It's almost like people are being let in on purpose to dilute the spirit of this country and make it more... European. Getting ready for a superstate, one country Europe maybe?

I watched that one and they didn't grant him asylum. He initially wanted to apply for it, but changed his tune when he realised he didn't have the correct reasons for applying.

He was allowed to return to Pakistan and all they told the Pakistan government is that he changed his intention to be here when he arrived.

While it does annoy me when such shows, especially the Police ones end with something like...

"As for the Drunk Driver who tried to outrun the Police, driving dangerously, well he got a week in prison and a community service order. The man caught with Cocaine in his car was released, as there wasn't enough evidence..... etc"

At least UK Border Force seems to show more good results, like they showed that while many will claim Asylum when they get refused entry, it's a fruitless attempt, as most will have no case, instead just becoming a waste of everyones time, and also resources/money to keep them. There was a guy last week who was refused, and they told him he could either leave now, or try for asylum, but he had no case, so he would most probably be wasting his and their time. He tried to claim, spent three weeks in a holding place and was sent straight home.

They aren't focusing so much anymore on all the people that try and smuggle themselves through the Ports into the UK. Trouble is, they said themselves that they don't stop every single vehicle, so it makes you wonder with that many trying, how many slip through the cracks.

Jokes. But never mind: at least we're the most tolerant and accepting state in Europe. (BBC is great PR for this)
Just don't complain about it or you're a racist or BNP supporter.

Can't we use automated turrets on our borders?
Then only a few selected and deserving would come through

"In the tunnel. Here we go. A and B gun tracking and firing. Multiple targets."
"Look at those ammo counters go."
"B gun's down 50 per cent."
"Man, it's a shooting gallery down there."
"60 rounds left on B. 40. 20. 10. B gun's dry. 20 on A ... 10 ... 5 ... that's it."
"Jesus. They're wall-to-wall in there."
"They're at the pressure door."
"Man, listen to that."
"This is unbelievable. 20 metres and closing. 15."
"How many?"
"Can't tell. Lots. D gun's down 50 per cent. C gun's right behind it."
"It ain't stoppin' 'em. This thing ain't stoppin' 'em."
"150 rounds on D."
"Come on, come on, baby. Come on!"
"100 rounds."
"Come on, come on!"
"D gun's down to 20 ... 10. Damn it!"
"They cut the power."
"*They* cut the power"? How could they cut the power, man? They're ******* Polish!"

Ahhh the truth comes out...funny how some people get so high up on their soapboxes that they tend to exaggerate the truth or in this case lie outright about what really happened to make their point or points.

But anyways the Aussies have it spot on...everytime i watch their border patrol programme it makes me wonder why this small country cant get it right...i mean Aus is like 10x's the size of the UK but yet we just let the buggers in.

Is it any wonder that the British people are getting more and more angry at the immigration situation??...ive always said that this damned govt of ours are the ones to blame...the floodgates are open to one and all...hell im sure if i wanted to i could get a few of my relatives from Pakistan over no problemo...not that i want to as we have enough here as it is:p

Install airlocks either end of the Chunnel and make it a Vacuum, then upgrade to Maglev rolling stock (pressurised of course) and the related infrastructure. All passengers will be located within the confines of the pressurised carriages and the 'transport' carriages that carry the trucks will be left unpressurised. This would have a two-fold benefit.

1.) The Maglev trains could reach insane speeds in the tunnel, drastically cutting the travel time.

2.) Any would be scrounging immigrants could just be picked up at the other end and their cadavers used for medical science.

I don't know if it was this program but I do remember watching a program where 2 police men were suspicous of a pair of blokes in a car and so pulled them over. Turns out they were in the country illegally. So theres me thinking right then take them to immigration and send them packing. Ohhh no the police couldn't/weren't allowed to take them to immigration, can't remember why not. So they just took them down the station and gave them a piece of paper telling them to go to the closest immigration office!!!! Suprisingly they were never seen again!!!!
