I know you said that you don't do pubs, but that's a mistake IMHO. In Winter a proper country pub is superb; roaring fires, good food and the odd tipple or two! Get yourself away

the decent home cooked meals seem to work well for me, if the weather sucks, a lot more personal/intimate than a meal out.

Shopping scores with the ladies, it's soo mind numbingly boring, she will pick out loads of clothes, try them on and not want any of them.
I suggest shopping for a day, london eye, nice meal, then a pasty.
