Hey,

I smartly broke my Maxtor drive :(

It was in my case, with another case leaning up next to it on the floor (swapping out parts), so i walk past it and knock the second case into the 1st case and snap the plastic off where the sata cable connects.

If i put the plastic in the sata cable then put it on carefully the machine powers on, but then crashes after a while.

I bought it second hand off but it's still under warranty untill 2011.

My question is, is that under the warranty and as i bought it second hand - can i get a replacement?

someone may know :D

Thank you!

Should i wipe the drive? I'm learning network admin and it has backtrack onto harddrive and some files.

Nope, warranty doesn't cover physcial damage ;)

Best bet is going to be a hot glue gun to hold it in place really.

Cheers
