:confused: What are you on about, no point? It's exactly the same for Apple. The testers would be the geeks with Apple hardware, just as the Win7 testers are the geeks with PCs. There is clearly a point as Snow Leopard shipped with at least one critical bug which would have been found with a public test.

Also, it's the first OS MS have released in BETA/RC steps to the public (also leaked ¬_¬) and the public has had nothing but praise for. I guess that's down to the fact that today digital distribution is ten fold faster than when Vista came out - plus Vista paved the way by having several years to sort out the drivers.

I preordered Snow Leopard and am still yet to install it :(
 
Wow, lots of XP fanboys and people who don't know what they're talking about, sounds like a few of them have managed to screw it up already too.

Problem is its the FUD from early days stays with some people,I thought Vista with SP2 was/is an excellent OS,Win7 builds on the strengths of Vista with tweaks so again Win7 is an excellent OS ,I use both and enjoy using them.

Agreed - 100 percent.

I don't get all the Vista hate. I had a friend telling me how all he heard was how bad it was - he got a laptop with it on and after a few days of whining shut up and liked it. (Back when Vista was new and shiny). :p

Love Vista, much more than XP. But W7 is a lot better.

Is it Vista but improved? Yes, like XP was improved over windows 98. Or a 1080P tv is an improved b/w 14" screen. :D

I don't get all the Vista hate either. By the time I started using it, it was before SP1. And even then, it wasn't that bad.

Sure, some people say Windows 7 is ONLY a more polished version of Vista. But is that a bad thing. No. At least Microsoft learned something from Vista. They listened to what the public thought, and implemented some of those things (confirmation of UAC being turned off for example).

From what I have seen so far, I hope all the Windows 7 and Microsoft bashing dies down soon. So many are slagging off Windows 7, simply because of Vista :mad:
 
There one of my work colleagues who firmly believes with furious anger and confidence that Vista and Windows 7 are too childish, slow, have compatibility issues, have bad 64bit drivers and that XP just works, it's been around ages so is well established and doesn't look "fisher price".

Now the last comment is the one that always tickles my perrywinkle because XP actually has the primary Fisher Price colours if I am not colour blind and completely out the box as well :p
