Yes I know we don't here. One reason why there are these problems.
I dislike Straw for everything he's done since he stopped being Foreign Sec.
and I dislike him even more now for not being man enough to say what the Tory woman is saying now ... that the mainstream party immigration policies suck.
Thing is, we don't need it. Our politics seems to run fine without church interference unlike in USA.

Call me what you like. I'm just trying to get a straight answer. Would you kick my mother out on the basis that she is a migrant? It's a very simple question. The more you avoid it, the more I suspect your answer would be yes, which is fine - at least your views would be in some way consistent.
It works because the religion (most of the time) not a political issue, and there is not a large block of Christian conservative voters like you find in Bible Belt states.
We 100% do not have seperation between Church and State, they are one and the same thing in the UK.
I wish this was taught better in schools....

We need an immagration policy, not the racist rantings of the BNP and not the cowardice of the current parties. A strong, yet fair policy is what we need.

BNP would be gone overnight if politicians stopped turning the UK into an Islam state and tightened up the borders to people that HATE Britain.
Ghurkas, send them all over here, in fact I'll actually sponsor one. Poles, send more of them here, Asians love them, they all want to get on with their life. Africans, fine by me, they push up our crime budget slightly, but no mass bombings.

hardly a fair generalisation
It's not the same thing though because we have little church impact on politics.
The archbishop dude (beardy!) gives some political criticism and he's discounted as being irrelevant by most people and media.
We don't need a separation in law because we have one in practice anyway.

There are far bigger and less publicised problems than those.. They are the issues that are really undermining the country not what the Daily Mail or Nick Griffin fancies having a rave about.
