**The Dragon Age Origins Thread **

You can just switch it to easy mid game, I couldn't manage one of the last fights with the ogre and 2 of the halberd swinging mobs on hard with my mage, rogue and warrior. Easy to lock one ogre down with stuns but those halberd mobs are a bit too tough to handle as well.

It's only part one so more to come, although in the last survey there were a lot of worrying microtransaction related questions :(

Tree: I loved ToEE at the time, proper turn based beardy D&D gameplay and strategy, nice big fat game manual :) Plenty of bugs to start with, including gamebreakers nearer the end, but some of the fights were very hard and you had to know your D&D monster's immunities and weaknesses. Very challenging game, great dungeon crawl.

Been meaning to reinstall with the Circle of Eight fan fixes and mods.

Just looked into this and I was actually thinking about the Pool of Radiance remake! I completely missed ToEE. Might actually be something to play until Dragon Age comes out.

My bad

On another note, I'm very impressed with DA: Journeys. Most polished flash game I've played since The Last Stand.

Agreed, but it took so long. Why couldn't they make a single run-through enough for the third unlock? All the other 4 achievements I got in a single playthrough, but I just don't know if it'll be worth another 2. Especially since I hate rogues.

Whack it on easy to complete the rogue, means you can fly through it.

Did any of you guys get emails to confirm the character creator or journeys unlocks? I haven't so there seems to be no record of the unlocks.

Does anybody have a clue if I can get the Collector´s Edition somewhere off the shelf in the Republic of Ireland?!

Thanks

Ask in your local game shop, they'll be the best ones to tell you. If it's a bit of a walk, phone them. That works quite well for me when I'm over in Ireland.

So which charactor/race are you people going to start off with?

Does this effect the ingame cutscenes Ive seen clips of, looks like there romantic hanky panky to be had! :D

I believe gender choices will have an impact like they did in mass effect to some extend. If you play the browser game www.dragonagejourneys.com you can figure out quite a bit about the rogue, warrior and mage classes in the game as the have implemented some of the spells and abilities to it. You can also unlock items for the real game by playing it.

I usually would play a Bard as my first RPG ever was the Bard´s Tale and I keep playing bard since them - but the mages and the spells in DA:O just seem to be too fine.

By the way there is page called "Tomb Of Knowledge" within the Bioware Pages where you can read lots of details and see videos of the spells and so on.

I am thinking of a city elf mage as a first go through.

Then I think I will go for the Dalish elf rogue.

Well they said you are looking at like 120 hours of game play if you do all the quests, dont think there´ll be a second time for me though. Usually I keep a easy rule when playing RPGs, if you can figure out before what the NPCs will be, then go for a class or abilities that no one else has in the party, like this you get to experience the upmost of the game. On the other side, if you dont want to spoil the fun and suprises...

The amount of hours I have spent playing BG is mental though 120 hours is nothing ! :p

Mind due I did have a lot more time on my hands back then than I do now :)

If the game is up to BG par then I will plough a lot of hours into it. But generally RPG's I do like to play casters. So the mage will be my first most likely.

Having said that most MMO's I will play a melee.... wierd that.

If you want to be a mage you can only choose the mage origin story, you're locked out of the city elf origin. Shame as that's exactly what I wanted to roll as my first character :(
