Bought. This was exactly what I was after as well. Was playing it last year when my graphics card died, and the replacement 3850 I got wasn't up to the task.

I never completed Oblivion, but I found The Witcher much more exciting. You know like when you watch a really epic fantasy film that really draws you in? Well it's like that. It's very believable.

If you were looking for a technical comparison then I'd say the graphics are generally better although the draw distance isn't as great as Oblivion (Oblivion's was mentally big though), day and night cycles feel more realistic, animation is much more fluid and combat/magic levels better.

I just checked and Paypal doesn't operate in those countries so we can't Paypal someone to have them Gift the game to us over Steam :( Lucky for those that actually live there.

Fudging your own billing/shipment address (either in the Steam basket or on the Paypal payment page) when using Paypal as a payment method won't work either since the country selection is a limited list in a drop down box. That list is how I found out that Paypal doesn't work in the mentioned countries.
 
Well mine downloaded overnight. I just tried running it and like a couple of other people have found that nothing happens. It just doesn't run full stop. Tried running the exe manually but no luck.

I know the game runs in Win7 because I had my other retail digital version running on RC1 for yonks. GG Steam, remind me of why I moved to consoles.

I don't think this is a very good deal, really. This can be picked up in bargain buckets on the high street for half that price.

(also I hated this game :( I tried to like it! Honest I did!)
 
good game but the combat system is how shall I say.... diffrent.
takes some getting used to but worth trying to master.
only paid a few £ more than this for it over 12 months ago retail :)
 
Very very difficult getting into this game. Been playing for the last 2 hours and it feels like I'm working at liking it.

The first act is almost enough to put most off the game but just hold on until it ends. Act 2 onwards is where it gets good.
 
im nervous now lol - ive been downloading it since 5pm and im only at 42% on a 4meg connection. Taking ages.

Scared to play it to be honest. I dont want to hate it...........i actually really really really dont want to hate it.
