It could be the gfx card and as you have a spare card hopefully it will prove to be the case (but it could equally be something else.)

There are a few other tests you could do but they're probably left for tomorrow.

Failed.. It now says Checking signal cable - digital which it has never said before - it always used to be analogue. And this graphics card uses Analogue.

So it's not the graphics card...

-- Tommorow I will replace the H50 with the stock cooler, this is the only thing I can think of. I've been at this for 9 hours now and I can't believe what a fail it's been, worked 4 months for these parts and it wont bloody work.

Why take a picture, I can tell you it's in both blue slots, the other two are black. I've tried one stick, in both slots.

Nice read.

Personally I've built over 10 rigs, watercooled, volt modded, pelt cooled and used compressor cooling and I dont think I have had a single build that switched on correctly the first time I hit the power button. Normally manage to forgot to conect one thing or another.

I've learned loads doing this rig, it's my first one so I'm pretty pleased with how it went.

I should have checked the motherboard manual about which slots to put the RAM!

Hehe, always a given – but we all miss the obvious at times – especially with first builds.

I will add that you also need to be as comprehensive in your replies as possible when describing your tests/troubleshooting otherwise things get lost in translation…

…I should have asked for clarification on the above but you can see how easy it is to rule out the ‘actual problem itself' with quick replies over the forum.

Thankfully, hyperst came at the problem afresh otherwise I think we may have stripped your whole rig down.

All good experience though – enjoy your new toy!
