Yas Marina Circuit - Abu Dhabi Prix 2009 - Race 17/17

Buemi and Kobayashi have both done quite well I think.

Alguersari, Grosjean - bandits!

I don't think Alguersari is too bad, he's better than Grosjean/Piquet..... But then again you could argue he spins less because the STR chassis is good and its a good handling car unlike the Renault that even seems to make Alonso look poor!

Kobayashi has been fantastic :)

Thought a few had a point in Brazil about him being pretty dangerous in the braking zones (weaving multiple times)

Also out of principle I dont believe someone in their debut race should get mixed up on purpose in the championship fight (ok it wasnt necessary in the end but if Lewis says he wont get involved if it comes down to it, why the ***** should someone in their first race)

a lot better today admittedly

Did anyone else notice how bad Jenson's first stop was in comparison to Rubens, it was an additional 1.5 seconds , even if he did put in a few extra laps of fuel (2nd stop seemed to be 3 laps later rather than 1) , one stop throughout the year always seems to be far longer

So the championship leader should get a free ride from the back of the grid to the front?

They were fighting for position - all was fair.

yea we had enough of that in the schumacher years pretty much every driver until the points would just let him by.

he probably would have overtook most easily anyway but still it does nothing for the fans if people happily give up places without a fight

sorry but when i watch 80s racing i think, damn these drivers make a lot of mistakes. F1 drivers these days are perfect compared to what you see in the 70s and 80s.

Thats because F1 drivers in those eras actually controlled the car themselves rather than and electronic unit that made sure the gear change was perfect.

These pussies even have an automatic anti stall to stop the poofs stalling when they cannot operate the clutch correctly ;)

Its not the drivers that are perfect compared to the 80's, it's the cars and the car set up that is much more refined than the 80's.

The TV coverage for the race today has been a mess, not the BBC's fault as it's a generic feed all the TV channels use.

Seem to be too busy showing everything bar the racing!

Got to agree there, who wants to see Naomi Campbell whoring herself in front of Bernie?

I would love to see the highlights programme made up out of all the available footage re edited.

Just noticed that Kovy's 11th place cements his position in the table below Massa (equal points but behind on count-back) - the same Massa who missed the second half of the season. Good thing Kovy will be getting his marching orders from McLaren soon, his lack of pace nearly cost them 3rd in the constructors championship.

considering how hamilton almost walked away with this one heikis performance was utterly dire.

Not considering his braking manouvres it wasnt in my opinion, and considering the different strategies and Kobiashi was going 3s a lap slower - I dont believe so no

Anyway its irrelevant now, a better quality driver in the same position I wouldnt have had a problem with, a rookie in his first race pulling off the moves he wsas doing - looked a little dodgy to me

I told you that would happen a few races ago :)

If you've read, if it wasnt for this oppotunity he would probably making sushi.
He was driving for a career had no budget, one last gasp of motor racing and thats what made him stand out.

"So I had to think, I had to organise it before and understand what was happening. I had to do everything to understand what the problems were in Interlagos, and if I had the chance – everything, tyre work, car set-up, I worked on."

So i say well done to him for not backing down to button makes the race better.

I had to record the race as I was too busy watching Ajax beat Feyenoord, started watching the recording but soon after the start went to 2x speed, few minutes later to 4x speed and after that to 16x speed just to see the result.

I don't want to see Lewis and his dad talking to some rich guy in a dress or see some old model in the Ferrari pitbox.

they dont have automatic steering, braking or throttle though. I dont mean gear change mistakes, i mean real driver error like missing the apex by meters etc etc.

We're so close to another drivers of today vs drivers of yesteryear argument.. you guys arnt putting in enough effort.
