13-inch 2.26GHz BookPro

So does click and drag not work on the new trackpad?
I think it works fine. Double tap, keep the finger on the pad, then move.

It's horrible if you use the full-on mechanical click rather than "Tap to click". I don't like the mechanical click in any situation - it's slower and unnecessarily stiff.

Sorry to add to my questions, but is Applecare worth it for this?.

Was hoping to order just everything tonight.

Whats the Kinsington stuff like for ram?

And I see the Seagate Momentus 7200.4 320GB 7200RPM, Western Digital Scorpio Black 320GB 7200RPM, are out of stock, but the Fujitsu 3200GB 5400RPM SATA 8MB Cache, is a really good price, would I see any real work difference between them?

Ohh and one last thing I promise, wanted a 1tb external HDD to time capsule my Imac and this, can I have 2 time capules on the one HDD, and what external one would yas recommend.

Just pretend there is one and hold it down with your thumb, drag as normal.

EVERYTHING that works on a trackpad with a button works on the newer ones.

What he says. It's just that the whole pad is the button, it really works no different to the one with the button along the edge except that you can click/drag anywhere

I got a 13" MBP 2.26 delivered on Friday last week. Not a huge leap forwards in terms of performance over my 2.16 Macbook, but a much nicer piece of kit!

Will upgrade the RAM to 4GB at some point.

Don't see the issue with the trackpad/drag and drop at all. As above, just pretend there is a button there, click with one finger and drag with another...

Hmm just noticed that the Sata II 7200 arnt working to well as upgrades, lots of big problems it would seem, jsut as well I checked about, will jsut go with the 320 Fuji 5400

Well cause none of you where here to talk any sence to me I ordered, the 13", the Kinsgton 4GB ram and the Fuji 320 hdd...damn you all!

It just feels weird, alright? :p Jeeze, you'de think you weren't allowed to dislike anything here!

Still doesn't change the fact that you could have a nice little one ala Macbook Air to accomodate us oldies used to seperate buttons either. Heck i'de like two seperate buttons for left and right click, but I think i'l be dead long before that ever happens :D

See I can't stand the Macbook Air one, it's too small and too far down.

It either needs a good big button or no button at all, imo.

All I was saying is with the no-button trackpads, just forget that it's different and use it exactly as you would with the previous type, it'll behave exactly the same way. I just use my thumb on the bottom part of the button and it's no different at all.

If you can stretch to it, yes. For piece of mind and ease. I know you can get out of warranty repairs often by yelling about the SOG act and so on, but I feel for the 13" notebooks it's a reasonable price and a good service.

However if you can't stretch to it, don't panic. Macs ARE pretty reliable machines. You can also buy it any time in your first year.

Yes you can, just partition it however you like.

I've got a WD Mybook Studio, and while I did at one point hear some quite grim stories about them, and mine occasionally throws up 'failed to back up' messages from Time Machine, it's never actually properly misbehaved and is quiet and quite fast. Decent price for a FW drive as well.

I've moved it to a different machine now and i'm using a LaCie drive for TM now and it's much, much louder. LaCie have gone downhill imo.

Is this true? I've got my 13" MBP arriving on Thursday and I was about to order a Seagate Momentus 7200.4 500GB 7200RPM SATA-II to replace the original drive. Is it recommended to stick to a 5400 drive??

Well after seeing them all out of stock here I firgured ill just pre order one, but started to look around about the drives as I was ordering it all last night, found one paricular thread from an other forum that was about 11pages long of people that started having problems with the Blue WD, drives where failing all over the place after a firmware update after istallation, and the Sata II step down speed was causing major problems!

I don't of the problems with the Seagate cu3ed is talking about. But the trade off with the 7200 is battery vs performance. So it will depends what you care about the most.

You can? I have never seen anyone get a repair done because they argued about the sale of goods act, not that i am suggesting its not possible just never seen anyone win that argument. I never understand what the point is in a warrenty for any product...

Warrent in my understand is to protect it against manufacturing defects and problems. It does not cover fair ware and tare. So in that even why the hell do you need it because you should be covered for ever because it should not fail because of manufacturing defect. It would only fail under ware and tare and in which case isn't covered.

Perhaps I am missing a point?

I think it's more to do with good lasting an acceptable amount of time, or however it's defined. I've no idea how long this is exactly, but it's longer than 1 year.

It won't work in the store that often but it can work when you start sending snotty letters to Applecare. The SOG act states that consumer goods should be covered for a 'reasonable' length of time, and to be honest, a year's not that reasonable, and most companies will tend to buckle.

Just had a Google about the 7200 drives and problems with them and I found an article about drives with the G-Force protection, which in the case of MacBook Pros may be creating a conflict. I really would like an improvement in speed as well as size, so I'll take a chance and get a WD Black 320Gb drive when they're back in stock.

When the prices are a little more reasonable i'l just be putting an SSD in mine. Don't need the space as it isn't my main machine, but the speed increase is large enough to bother over the standard 5400.
