You're the one who seems obsessed with extracting payment from the OP's bunghole.

not my fault thats how u read it, u must have a homo mindset to read into things like that.

i mean every second or third time i c one of ur posts im in there. please dont try to track me down and bum me.

jus think about it guys, jokes aside yeah cus sum of u think its a joking matter.

the drivers done his job properly all he did was use his fone which lets be honest loads of people do throughout the course of the day. he took the pic of the driver and thought he could use it to blackmail him by not paying him the bill.

op is very clever but he is in the wrong, so he has to pay. the driver should do it, if he dont then hes a nob and serves him rite.

Are you 100% sure?

I actually agree using a mobile phone without a hands-free kit especially when your driving around the general public is very wrong, I wouldn't of dealt with it the same way though, I would have asked him to end the phone call and if he refused I would've asked to get out of the cab and report him to the local council so they can review his license, I wouldn't expect a bus driver to be holding a phone in one hand while driving so on the same token I certainly wouldn't expect a Taxi driver to do the same either.

I'm with OP on this - he engaged the services of a taxi driver, and as such should be entitled to expect that the taxi driver does not drive illegally. I appreciate that there are other things that are dangerous to do while driving that are not specifically illegal, but in this case he asked him to hang up, the driver refused. Why should the OP 'get out' as you are suggesting? what if had been further from home in (maybe unsavoury) area without easy access to another taxi service or other transport?

Personally I'd have got out somewhere far enough away from my home and done a runner, and if the driver wanted to pursue it then the photo of him breaking the law would be a bit better evidence than he'd have on me...

I agree with the OP'er to a certain extent but he should have asked to get out of the cab if the the Taxi driver refused to put down the phone, as the reason he is asking him to put down the phone in the first place is because he feels that his safety is in jeopardy, you don't continue putting your safety in jeopardy and then try to get a free Taxi ride at the end, it's like people that finish their meal in full at restaurant and then complain about the meal after and try to get it for free, if you have a problem with the service you are receiving get it rectified or discontinue with the service that is being provided.

i think half of u live in a fantasy world where everything is perfect and u can always park up within 30 seconds to answer ur fone call..

I want to know how you got out the taxi without paying?

Aren't they usually locked until you pay the fare

i agree. he didnt try to get out of paying though.

But this doesn't address my point - what if the OP had been somewhere where getting out would not really have been an option, or would potentially have been more unsafe than in a taxi with a driver on a mobile.

I don't think it is particularly dangerous but that is somewhat risky, but the fact is if you are paying for a service you have every right to expect them to provide that service, which is to be driven to your destination in a safe and legal fashion. They failed to provide this service, even after OP tried to ensure they did (shouldn't have even had to do this, but I guess it could have slipped the drivers mind that it was illegal to use his mobile)

At the end of the day, I don't think it is worth losing any sleep over, but I still think OP was in the right (but yes, stupid to allow the taxi driver to know where he lives)
