I think a lot of you are being a bit harsh on this chap. He is after all only asking for friendly advice.

Regardless of whether or not the poster should have done this and should have done that, the taxi driver broke the law initially and should face some consequence. Especially considering his job! I think its out of order.

Agreed that the poster should have been dropped off earlier, and should have paid the fare in full, but you don't always think of these things in the heat of the moment.
 
To answer your question (OP), if he goes to the police about you not paying, he's hardly going to mention he was on the phone.

Your word against his, and you've probably annoyed him.

FYI: Evidence has shown handsfree kits considerably affect your driving, just like using a mobile. Which is why many companies have banned handsfree kits as part of their transport policy.

Oh dear lord. I severly hope the OP never gets into a position of power in a council or government as this is the typical type of namby pamby person that is turning this country into a soul-less turd.

If you HONESTLY felt that in danger you would have asked the taxi driver to STOP and then paid your fare up to that point.

You didnt ask him to stop and kept going until your destination and THEN asked for less money?! If you felt that strongly you would have simply asked to finish the ride there and then.

I can't really say more than that without doing personal insults really.

Surely though if he is using his mobile phone while driving he is putting me in danger.

you sound like a complete and utter idiot. the man knows how to do his job not u, you dont need to tell him. hes taking u home and he answers a call wow wee so what ppl do that everyday not jus taxi drivers.

then u have the cheek to try and say ur not gonna pay the fair, if i was there and u didnt pay the fair id rah come later and make you pay for it one way or the other. ur lucky he didnt smak u 1.

when my dad was doin black cab sum1 didnt pay the fair and ran into his house, later on my dad stole something off him which was worth a lot more then his fair.

no it's not, internet persona. You wouldnt do a damn thing if he refused to pay the full amount because you'd loose your job. Dont even sit and and try to say otherwise lol

Perhaps if you used correct punctuation and spelling, you'd come across in a different light?

Oh, and telling everyone your dad stole something in a similar situation is not really the wisest moves, if you want to be taken seriously.

Ive asked countless drivers to put down their phones when ive been in their car/taxi, they seem to do so, why did you not just tell him to stop and let you out if he would not put down the phone?, ive dont that a few times and they all hung up so I stayed and they got the fare for the whole journey.
 
jus think about it guys, jokes aside yeah cus sum of u think its a joking matter.

the drivers done his job properly all he did was use his fone which lets be honest loads of people do throughout the course of the day. he took the pic of the driver and thought he could use it to blackmail him by not paying him the bill.

op is very clever but he is in the wrong, so he has to pay. the driver should do it, if he dont then hes a nob and serves him rite.
