Completely drenched by the police...

Definitely report it as don't they still have to abide by the rules of the road even when responding to an emergency? Accept they have a very difficult job but cannot see any reason why they could not move if the road was empty....they would for a cyclist wouldn't they?

Bet most of the people laughing would not be laughing quite as much if it were them under the tidal wave.......

I'm pretty sure you should be able to make a claim for any financial loss incurred. Go to your nearest police station. Unless things have changed drastically in the last few years, they will provide you with a form to fill in indicating the circumstances of the incident and the damage caused. Exactly what happens after that I'm not sure as I decided not to pursue the claim when my car was damaged under similar circumstances (loose chippings of course, rather than water in my case!) but I'd imagine it would play out much like an insurance claim.

iirc the police have charged a few people for this.

report em to the daily mail! :D

they have and yeah ok if you got wet sure no problem leave it be but if bits were broken in the process, im sure you should complain!!!

only if its broken and yeah take photo...and put it in a bowl of rice, itll help :)

Done the rice thing, good idea that.

And that video made me smile :D

Cheers everyone, even if you were taking the ****! :p

Was it dark? Were you in some way visible?

On the Wirral I see... Whereabouts did it happen?

Nah, city centre Lancaster, should probably update that as I'm at uni. It was dark, but there's streetlights everywhere, shops and the bus station. Perfectly visible.

Hahahaha you'll be quicker the next time you hear sirens and see a puddle!

hope you get it sorted though, I'd be raging if it happened to me.

File a complaint and push it further. When i was at court giving evidence the fella in front of our turn was up for soaking someone with a puddle. He got done for dangerous driving and (6points and hefty fine) even though he couldn,t have avoided it they said he should have slowed right down because aquaplaning could cause an serious accident.

Apologies doon - posted back at you to quickly and sarcastically :(

I meant it slightly differently to how it came across - as in yeah, definitely report it as worth checking to see if they should have been more careful.....

soz

if i remember correctly it's illegal to splash a pedestrian by driving through a puddle, but ur all completely right, no plates wont help and if they were responding to a very important case then they have their reasons

did you not see the puddle yourself and combined with speeding cars coming your way not think ''better speed up/stop , walking''
