**The Dragon Age Origins Thread **

Been playing this all day, I now have hand cramps

It is a difficult game in places. I wandered into what only can be described as a mage's hideout, man that was a difficulty spike. Being double-teamed with a combination of fireball and chain lightning continually wiped my party until I thought of a few better tactics.

Still finding it hard to micromanage my party and fights can get a little messy when suddenly you're surrounded by 10 bandits. On the plus side Morrigan with mind blast and cone of cold can shut down vast swathes of the opposition in a couple of shots.

Called my hound Alfie :p

Difficulty on normal is mental though. Im about 20% through now and in denerim or whatever its called

The fights now there are about 10 bad guys if not more
Archers miles away firing away and I end up getting surrounded by fighters

:(

Enjoying every minute of it though

Mine is Called GnarKiLL. All my pets get that name.

I've managed to snog Morrigan. Gonna dOOf her soon hopefully. :D

The game is insane in places even on normal. The Deep Roads are full of darkspawn and Ogres, and man is it tough..

And of course...THAR BE DRAGONS!

Spend some time on the AI Tactics screen.

It's really worth spending ten minutes setting up tactics, I've got my group set up really nicely and well balanced now, albeit with 2 rogues and a healer.

Where can I pick up the priest girl? I am just past redcliffe and have not seen anyone resembling a healer yet.
If you mean Leilani (girl), you get her from the chantry in the first village you come to. If you mean the old woman Wynne, you get her from completing the Mage Tower.

Anyone else think that enemy casters are far too powerful, in a fight with 10 mobs and 1 caster and i keep getting owned, cant go straight for caster as the fighters attack me, cant take out the fighters 1st as the mage keeps casting fireball and lighting killing everyone.

Use some fire resistance potions and have your party on hold (H) round a corner and try to pull fighters first with a bow.

Hardest fight I've had so far, 40% in, is a mage with several spiders which web and immobolise.

However I wouldn't recommend using the distance pulling tactic too much because it makes a lot of encounters trivial and spoils the fun a bit.

Thx I skipped past that bit and went straight to der...something. Although even when I unlock her I don't know if I can sacrifice anyone from my group. The dog, shale, morrigan and my main (shield warrior) are an excellent team (I think the key component is that they all have some form of AoE stun/cc, plus good survivability).

Also, I was wondering how you pick a specialization for your class. Is the only way via finding training manuals that seem to be scattered around with merchants, or is there a place full of actual trainers?

Manuals, quests, or meeting certain people.
