Is it a good night when you don't remember going out?

its all just jibba jabba, unless you wanna meet me at the pub and we would put a wager on it

I might say crazy things, but i dont make stuff up

The alcohol intake you're claiming in the time period you're claiming would result in serious, possibly fatal, alcohol poisoning for a normal human.

I decided to feed data to the handy "Are You ****ed?" website so I didn't have to bother with the calculations.

http://www.ru****ed.com/

I made some probably reasonable assumptions;

i) You're male.
ii) You're 20.
iii) Your height is 180cm.
iv) Your mass is 90Kg.
v) The vodka was 40% ABV (i.e. standard spirits)

The result was BAC 0.68% - "You should be dead by now!"

If your metabolism is so unusual for a human that you can tolerate normally fatal levels of alcohol poisoning without major effects, maybe you should be studied in more detail.

EDIT: Of course, the autocensorship here blocks that website. I'm sure people can work out the URL for themselves.

Someone had to.

where's the original ? :D

To be fair my housemate did the ebony & ivory challenge. Ten glass of bacardi and ten glass of vat19. He drank those between 10.30am and 5.30pm (or so) then we got him down for a pint at the local pub and out to a club over the next few hours. He had about another 3drinks at the club before running home. However this is a 6ft 1 south african that is about 23stone, aged 19 at the time. He also had bugger all memory from most of the day, especially journeys to and from places and insulting random people or dropping his pint.

He had a great day. Also he had plenty of food during this but im pretty sure that'd put him in the dead range.

Despite this platinum is talking out his rear

I would just like to point out, there is a difference between getting drunk and having fun and being paralytic. and why risk looking like a complete idiot and filling A&E when you smash your face off the floor.
I've never been anywhere near drunk enough to justify A&E, only to the point where I have considerable memory loss.

none. its very simple. when your speech starts to slur or you feel unsteady on your feet stop bloody drinking.
If you have consumed too many spirits, you might have consumed enough alcohol to carry you through this stage. At least on one occasion I have thought "ok, time to stop the old drink........ crap, I keep getting more drunk! This isn't going to end well!"

So why why why for the love of god drink more when you KNOW your at your limit? it just completely makes no sense to me. You know its not good for you, youl look a pillock, youl feel like utter dog muck in the morning as opposed to just a simple head throb.
You actually caught me before my edit here - go back and see what I meant to say.

As above, if you drink (unknowingly) too much in short space of time, you can drink enough to make you very intoxicated without any of the warning signs. I'm pretty careful nowadays, hence why I said I only drink beer at house parties :)

Its just bloody sad, we have the best night life and city centres in human history, a whole weekend world dedicated to our enjoyment, and I have to contend with paralytic idiots vomiting everywhere, p***ing up everything, getting into fights, being dragged about and held up by mates and 200 police officers running around like bloody headless chickens burning trails of council tax as they go.
I would fully agree that those types are sad. However, I can't remember the last time I vomited from alcohol, I never get into fights or cause trouble. Be careful not to tar all of those who have accidently consumed a bit too much with the same brush!

If you can't remember it, then it may as well not have happened.

Wish it didn't, but oh well. :(

It was a really strong vodka punch that got me, I didn't realise how strong it was because it just tasted like pineapple juice. I think it may have just hit me at I went out, because that's where the blankness started.

Apparently I had 8 shots one after another in the bar. I must have been all over the place, I don't know why they didn't kick me out. I would have kicked me out.

getting so drunk you can't remember a thing was cool..... when you are underage. somehow, when you reach 18, the novelty soon wears off and you can drink normally. well that's how it went for me anyway. :p

That's nothing, I regularly eat raw arsenic. I know that medical science says I should be dead. But I'm *that* hard, me.

I had a bite once from one of those funnelweb spiders. I dunno what all the fuss was about, it was no worse than a mosquito bite.

If you're going to make up random ePeen stories, you could at least make them within the realms of physical possibility. For future reference; "I boffed Rachel Stevens when she was in 6th form" is a good one.

regarding the details of the night, will this be one of those stories where you had too much to drink and got too close to a "man friend" :D

obviously... this was before being carried to bed by a girl. :D

O.o .....

No, I won't bother.

I will however answer the original question:

In my personal oppinion (I know it's a lame disclaimer, but I can only go from my own personal values) then no, I would say it's not.

If you can't remember it, the fun is lost. I don't drink I fully admit, but if I did I would still not get so drunk as I can't remember what happened. All the fun you've had is lost!

I dont even understand what the fuss is about i mean seriously 8 hours or so

thats like 4 shots per hour, are you all insane or what that you do a stupid calculation instead of thinking about it normally?

My main point is i dont get total memory loss as the OP says, and thats it, regardless of how much i drink, its just fuzzy but i remember everything over the next day

Regardless of the calculations that you do, four shots an hour for 8 hours, is well over the median lethal dose for a very big person.

There's no "normal way" of thinking about it, you work out the amount of alcohol you've stuck in your blood and comparing it to the lethal dose..

The fact that you say you've done it on several occasions makes it seem even less likely.

When I was at uni me and my mates had a few rules for the day after, including "if you don't remember, it doesn't count"

Actually, that's really the only rule other than "eatin's cheatin'" and obviously "every hole's a goal"

You don't remember it, it doesn't count, move on to the next binge!

Done this a few times, remember going out ... having a few beers and then waking up the next day wondering were £60 went

Yup, have more than a few of those.

Still have a whole 12 hours I can't remember from 2 years back after Uni exams, went out at 6pm, got home at 6am, can't remember a minute of it.

Though usually I limit my self to £35-40, unless I'm buying drinks for some girl in which case it can get expensive (though this is still a lot of alcohol especially as I;d drink double vodka and redbulls all night - which really kick you 30min after the fact)

Apart from how much you actually drank, presumably.

:)

orderoftheflame is quite right. Drinking 32 shots in 8 hours is more than enough for alcohol poisoning and is quite frankly stupidity of the highest order. thats over one 70CL bottle of vodka at 25ml shots, and most bars use the larger 35ml shot measures these days which would take it to 110CL (1.1 litres of vodka).

8 hours to drink, 32 hours to clear out of your system based on 25ml shots. so that's conservative.

utter stupidity.

I can understand a couple of double V`s and coke in the first hour to get you going but continuing at that pace is irresponsible firstly to yourself and secondly to others.
