*** Official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Thread ***

yeah i queued in asda for that aha!

I didn't queue for that game, I just made 2 trips a day for 2 weeks to the same store and the people in there thought I was possessed. When they did eventually have it in stock, they lied and then went....'AHH! Got you!'.. was a joyous occasion.

Anyone picked it up in bath yet? Thought about going down before work but couldn't be bothered, gotta go into town for work later anyway... What were the queues like?

I just went to Lower Early Sainsburys on way to work at 8:30.

They didnt even bother putting them on the shelf just had 2 tills with the game on. Was with the gf so got 2 Xbox and 1 PS3 version. People just walking in picking up a copy and straight out. 100people in the queue at 7am though :S

Was a bit stupid though, he had to do two seperate transactions for it because of the 1 copy per console per customer rule

Dated? Last one I played some CoD2 in... I don't know, 2004? From my point of view it's not going to feel dated is it?!

i just think when it can be had for 26 get it, because MP is where its at with this game, and MW1 wont be as busy anymore fella :(

I went into my local Morrisons this morning (for something else) and spotted they had this for £26 so thought why not. A few people getting it but no queue. Guy there said they had 400 copies for each format and they expect to sell them all today and won't get a re-stock until next month and those will be at full price. Not sure how true that is though.

that winds me up so bad, 10/10 means perfect and im sure its brilliant, but im sure it has its downs and glitches that get patched!

Not really. We all know games aren't perfect but when you have a 1-10 rating system you have to make use of it somehow. :) I think it just says 'look, this game is blooming awesome' :p

I paid 45 quid for mine and it's en route to my letterbox now. to hell with queuing up in minus degrees. At any rate, i played my last game of cod4 mp last night and i do still enjoy it, 9000+ headshots later. i hope the stats/ranks are just as good or better than cod4 mp as this constitutes a big part of the addiction factor for statswhores like me!

no jump straight in with 2, suppose to be very different, basically a new game, MW1 is dated now mate, everyone will be on MW2... get to it, for 26 quid why not?

Very different? So far I can't help but think it should have been called Call of Duty: More of the Same. Nothing wrong with that considering CoD4 was so popular, but it's not ground-breaking by any stretch of the imagination and it makes me wonder how Activision think they can justify the inflated RRP.

As for MW1, it's certainly not dated yet. Granted, it was never the best looking game ever to begin with, but it still looks good and would be worth a go on the cheap. Probably worth waiting a while though, I imagine second-hand prices on it will go down now that MW2 is out.

yeah i see all this £26 quid business, and i think to myself well, i slept in this morning, woke up still in the PJ's warm in my own house, for some guy to deliver it to me door without hassle of trying to scout a copy this morning at local supermarkets, in the freezing cold, in stupid mayhem queues, worth the extra money to me!

I consider it as dated now it has an older brother, and its still a pricey game, why not just get the new MW2.
