I think it would be very foolish to think anyone could take on a chimp like that regardless of how big and strong you think they are. The thing ripped her hands off fo God's sake! I seriously doubt a human could do much more than badly dislocate the wrist.

I've seen the pictures of her from that show and it's really quite horrific, allbeit as tidy as the surgeons could make it.

I'm just saying I would've thought a baseball bat to the head of a chimp would take it down and these fighters kick hard bags over and over to condition their legs to be like baseball bats.
 
I remember this. Dreadful stuff.

There's also a guy somewhere who has a grizzly bear as a pet. They've been together for years and have got loads of photos together and have lots of fun etc etc. It probably won't be long before a similar thing happens to him.

Or like that guy in London zoo who tended to the same elephant for years and they had a great relationship. Then one day the elephant floored him and stepped on his head for no discernible reason.

Back OT, I too was shocked by the extent of injuries and also surprised she survived.

What on earth has that got to do with the matter? For the record, I know what you're trying to insinuate, I just can't help having a facial expression like this :\

I daresay many chimps are killed by humans, for bushmeat or whatever reason. "Mauled" I don't know because I daresay not many people would ever go out (poachers included) with the intent to 'maul' a chimp. You can't kidnap an animal. *facepalm*

I would like to offer my sincerest apologies to this thread for my earlier remarks. After googling "MMA fighter vs chimp" it appears I have underesitmated a chimps strength and bone density. I now realise my error and hereby withdraw my earlier comments. If this could please be not brought up in any future threads I would be most grateful, I would hate to make a even bigger fool of myself on an internet forum.

LOL I completely agree. It's not about being a wimp or arguing that if you treat it nice then it will treat you nice bla bla bla. If an animal is capable of it...end of imo. Doesn't matter how unlikely.
 
lol ever see the documentary of the 2 tribes of Chimps going to war against each other??
They are pretty capable of some brutal stuff, not that far from humans.
Im tryign to find the unveiled shots... any clues?
 
Thats is horrific....

It's strange to think that a chimp could cause so much damage, expecialy when the media present them as defensless little things...

I'm amazed she can even talk about it to be honest let alone go on TV.
