Your game seems really jammy :/
If by jammy you mean I've had a lot of undue luck, well, yes and no, I guess. This is the first time I've really got lucky in the transfer market; I seem to have made the wrong youth signings more frequently than the right ones (like the Mattock/Dodô thing I posted about - Mattock cost £9.5m and developed into, at best, a serviceable Premiership fullback whereas Dodô would've been much cheaper and is now a multi-capped Brazilian international), and I've signed a lot of established players who were very expensive (by Leeds' standards) and who either didn't live up to their promise (Dzsudzsak, Dzagoev) or outright flopped (Hazard). Akinfeev is sufficiently good that I trust he will not fail it in similar fashion, so I hope he will be one of my rare success stories.
I will concede that on-pitch I've consistently done better than I thought I was going to do, though. As I posted a few days back, I wish I could claim managerial brilliance, but the truth is that I'm still using a vanilla 442 that I knocked together in five minutes in the tactics wizard. I don't even modify it for away games

. I've been contemplating posting that FM10 seems 'easier' to me than past FMs but I figure it's a little too early to draw that conclusion yet. The squad does seem to outperform expectations a lot, and fate gave me a big helping hand last season in that a rather modest 63 points was enough to secure Champions League qualification (looking back through history, the last time that many points would have been enough for 4th place was nine in-game years ago in 2005, so I think I can count myself lucky there).

I can't believe Akinfeev stayed at CSKA until 2014!
It looks like they must have been clinging onto him for grim death for the last few years. His contract had about a month to go and his General Happiness was 'feels he needs to leave to further his career'. I imagine CSKA must have been rejecting bids for him for ages for it to get to that point. I could've let him leave and then tried to sign him on a free, but I figured it was well worth stepping in early and paying ~£5m just to make sure I was the only club offering him a contract.
