*** Official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Thread ***

I think the RPD is awesome in this, I'm trying to get mastery for the scar. once done I won't use it agai as the mag is empty after one or two kills. I end up reloading as the next guy comes around a corner and kills me.

Haven't tried the M16 yet though :D

1000/1000 :)

Me and Danny just finished off spec ops - Wetwork was the worst mission as we failed on the last room 5 times this morning before getting it done which means starting over, we did get our time down from 15+ minutes to around 10 though :p

I do hope they release extra spec ops missions as they can be quite fun in a masochistic kinda way.

Nice work, how long did all spec ops take you? I have only done alpha missions which were all pretty straight forward.

Scar is the best for me it just runs out of ammo too quickly

I agree.I've been using it since I unlocked it but only noticed yesterday that it starts with just 40 bullets:eek:
How much of a bitch is the FMJ challenge?I've been stuck on 18/40 for about a day!Or is it just me that's rubbish? I need that then i've unlocked all attachments for the SCAR:D

Personally my favourite weapon in the game was the L86 LSW, such a pitty it only gets a look in towards the end of the campaign!

Im sure its been said before but im just devestated the game ended so quickly.... I dont feel the Rangers campaign was finished and the fact you dont get to slot Makarov was dissapointing, though I suppose will make a story line for a 3rd installment.... I also feel the end was abit samey samey, I mean damn how many times can Soap cheat death?

Can we please keep the story spoilers to a minimum.. or at least give some warning?

Well the only reason I'm considering changing is because the M4 feels underpowered and I really hate n00b-tubers, so as a matter of principle I won't be doing the grenade launcher attachment challenge :p

Perhaps I'll give the TAR a whirl. God I hate iron sights.

i've been doing all the grenade launcher challenges aha, also ive mastered the FAMAS 1000/1000 kills, only got about 98 headshots to do, the M16A1 i have mastered just got 750/1000 kills, gonna do that soon, and ive just about mastered the SCAR-H, nearly at 500 kills :)

I did the challenge and then I haven't used the noob tube since:cool:

I don't see how the SCAR is being branded a 'noob gun'. The M16 was the 'noob gun' in COD4 so logically the FAMAS/M16 should be the 'noob guns' in MW2?

I always thought the M4 in original MW was the gun of choice for newbs, spraying is easy with it. But the real enemy is the grenade launcher :p

Honestly get a:

M16A1 with (Bling/Pro Perk: FMJ, Silencer or Redot/Holographic)

Perk 2: Stopping Power/Pro

Perk 3: Hip Fire Accuracy

or

M16A1 with FMJ

Perk 1: Sleight of Hand or Scavenger

Perk 2: Stopping Power/Pro

Perk 3: Hipfire Accuracy

= One shot one kill (in 90% cases, only exception is if someone is shot in the lower torso, aim for chest area, done!

if your not Level 40 yet for the M16A1, use the Famas, this about 75% worth of shots kill first time.

If your using SCAR-H use:

SCAR-H with FMJ (i dont really use red dot, or holographic, iron sights is good enough!)

Perk 1: Scavenger (enough pickups gives you 10k experience in no time (little tip, if you see a scavenger pack, shoot your gun, reload and walkover, do this as much as you want and it will class it as a pickup, this way you'll get experience quick, and never run out of ammo!)

Perk 2: Stopping Power

Perk 3: Hip fire accuracy

As for Perk 2/: i always recommend using stopping power, as it makes no end of difference, enemys fall a lot quicker.. therefore one shot kills are easier due to 3 shot burst fire. As for Hip fire i also never change this perk due to the fact we cant always aim down our sights, and this makes the gun a lot more accurate in close ranges/medium range full on gun fights.

For all setups too for Secondary Weapon: I always carry a Stinger (very handy because not too many people do, and its very effective against Air Attacks, the only time you will run into problems is if your against an AC130 (Takes 3 Stinger Missiles to Destroy, Because of Flares, Obviously you have 2, but in most cases you will die from an AC130, so you will get chance to take one down), or Heavy Helicopter Assaults (These also deflect using Flares)

The stinger is for airbourn vehicles only. I'll also add the bonus of carrying a Stinger is you can get decent exp depending on the vehicle you shoot down. for example:

UAV: 50 Points (No Defense, No Problem Taking Down)
Harrier: 200/300 Points (No Defense, No Problem Taking Down, Just make sure the turrent isnt in your direction)
Attack Helicopter: 200/300 Points (No Defense, Problem Taking Down, Same as above just have cover)
Pavelow: 200/300 Points (No Defense, Same as above)
Heavy Attack Helicopter (not sure of name): 300/400 Points (Abit more tricky to take down, i've had the odd problem, i believe flares are used)
AC130: 400 Points (The daddy of Airbourne attacks, read above)

If you are 50, I recommend using the Javelin as you can take out airbourne assaults, and also any landscape areas to take out multiple foot soldiers, NOTE: the Javelin only has one shot per life, so use it wisely! my i add also for the javelin, it fires forward and upwards, so if your firing make sure you do not fire in buildngs, unless your pushed against a wall looking out a window ;)

M16 (silenced), Marathon, Stopping power, Steady Aim. Job done. Using the FAMAS atm just because i have yet to unlock the M16. The AUG LMG is also a good laugh :)

I've just had the worst game of this ever. The whole opposing team was comprised of prestiges. It was almost as if they were invisible. Wherever you were, they were there. Behind you, almost stalking. No matter where you spawned, you were dead seconds later. I quit half way through as it made me feel sick to the stomach.

M16 doesnt need steady aim IME. Better off with some of the other Perk 3 options.

With the Red dot it was awesome in MW, I can see it being the same on this.

why would you waste an attachment using red dot, or holographic? as for hipfire, anygun in my opinion benefits from steady aim

Looking at my total play time  from the stats menu.

Campaign play time 16 hours two run throughs.

Spec ops 20 hours, but that includes doing missions twice because I've been doing some with Wyrdo and then repeating them with another friend. Which if you can avoid doing is helpfull because some of them are a complete *****.

Also some of them are far easier in a pair, ones you think wont be. Like the pit run and the second time trial on snow bikes. Wyrdo was far ahead of me and I was just getting the odd gate he missed. He finished I didn't but you still get the 3 stars if one of you finishes :)

Looking at my total playtime 2 days 9 hours and that doesn't include MP :D

Oh well L4D2 this week :D

The one thing this game lacks is a horde. Defending s rooftop 6 players with MP perks against increasing levels of enemies could have been awesome. Killstreaks etc.

Steady aim doesn't really help the guns with short burst fire rates.
And Red Dot makes it a lot quicker to line someone up and shoot them, especially at a distance.
