*** Official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Thread ***

Personal preference I guess. The Iron sights hide anything below the iron sight. I just love the surgical precision of a M16 with reddot

How you can say the iron sights is equal to a reddot for aiming is beyond me.

Although I guess now in MW2 FMJ is an attachment rather than perk so I suppose defaulting to a red dot like you did in MW is an arguement I can't use as argubly FMJ is more useful than a red dot.

Steady aim is pointless on a M16, looks at the crosshair change when you fire it off the hip, steady aim is vital on a P90 though. Bit of sideways strafing when shooting and you will win 90% of 1 vs 1s.

Definately a good perk, just has the downside of not being able to use stopping power. Combine cold blooded with a silencer though and you can easily get behind a group of enemies and take them all out.

There is no best perk, you need to tweak setups for different games and even different teams you come up against.
 
When it is availible, think I will keep CB perk for SMG and sniper classes. The rest will have stopping power :)

Also, love the graphs to show what effect perks have on the weapons.

That's the only class I dont use it on actually. TBH though I picked up a sniper rifle the other day and got some great close up no scopes rushing a building with steady aim. Also got 5 knife kills in a row. After the first 2 I just went to rampage mode and thought why stop and just ran from room to room slashing fools.

Scavenger is my top perk at the moment. I'm usually alive for quite a while and running out of ammo is always a problem.
 
Have you seen the kills leaderboard. Why the hell they haven't just reset the scores on some of those. 51778 kills 533 deaths 97.14 ratio with a 411 kill streak, with his mate behind him on 406.

Seriously how bored would you have to be racking up 51,000 kills in rigged games. Theres loads of them in the top 20 as well.

I don't know why Inifnity doesn't just wipe them out. As they are so opposed to cheating because of party chat.

Modern Warfare 2 has officially joined the somewhat exclusive Microsoft DLC club. Infinity Ward's relentless first-person shooter will offer downloadable map packs (duh!), the first two of which will launch first on Xbox Live. The news came via Microsoft's E3 press, where Microsoft's John Schappert was keen to emphasize that the Xbox 360 version would lead the way in Modern Warfare 2's online component.

I suck big time, not played an fps on ps3 before.

Any tips for a n00b?

I doubt the 'exclusive' dlc will be exclusive for long.

Besides, I'm glad of this. I've no doubt that the DLC will be out very soon as they're eager to get as much cash as possible. I for one would like mroe time with the original content before having to buy DLC so I can play the 'full' game.

I wish there was no such thing as DLC. If we didn't have it, we wouldn't miss it.

Shoot at them before they shoot at you.
Spam corners/wait for someone to pop their heads around a corner.
PLay domination and wait for someone to come capture the objective, then nade em :p

Lightweight Pro

On that Favela map, I was leaping from rooftop to rooftop Predator stylee before diving off and knifing unsuspecting victims :D

Sod maps I just want more more and then even more Spec ops missions!

I can see them adding achievements this time through DLC spec ops like Waw did extra nazi zombie modes maps etc.

After playing these MP maps a few times I've changed my mind Cod 4 original maps > MW2 maps.

It's called score boosting.

There's a guy in work who is part of a clan that boost non-stop. Think he was at level 45 on the first night (got it launch day).

When I asked him why he does it, he said he can't be bothered levelling up "the normal way" :rolleyes:
