It's called score boosting.

There's a guy in work who is part of a clan that boost non-stop. Think he was at level 45 on the first night (got it launch day).

When I asked him why he does it, he said he can't be bothered levelling up "the normal way"

WTF, why bother levelling up at all. Why waste hours boosting. I can take it from kids but how old is this guy you work with. You get nothing for it and when he plays the game he will still be crap.

After playing these MP maps a few times I've changed my mind Cod 4 original maps > MW2 maps.

I really don't think you can judge yet, on first glance maybe, but I bet there are still tons of places on each map you haven't discovered, and routes you didn't even know were there.
I know I was still discovering new places on COD4 maps months after I started playing it.

He's older than me, I'd guess 28/29.

I only know because he asked me what rank I was on Friday, and when I said, he sniggered. He said he was almost prestige :o

I'd have no problem if they kept those players in servers by themselves, but the matchmaking system seems broke to me as it often pairs me with much higher players. This is the same across all gametypes, which makes me suspect it's b0rked.

Not saying I want to play with the newbies, but it's hardly fair if you're starting out and the other team has highly ranked players with epic perks OR as sometimes happens 1 team will get all the high rank guys and you're shafted on the other team with people who couldn't hit the floor if they fell over.

networks aren't one of my strong points, what should i be checking?

I've got a Belkin wireless G+ MIMO router with the 360 currently hard wired if that's any help.

thanks

Re: my NAT connection being moderate as opposed to open, what do i need to do to open it?

thanks

You need to put your console in the DMZ on your router, so it essentially is outside of the firewall.

Google whatever your router is and 'NAT' and Xbox.

Could anyone confirm the system link options for this game please? I have read online that the only option is for one person per xbox? E.g Spec Ops.

I have 3 mates with an extra TV and 360 coming round this weekend, is there no way to have 4 players playing over system link? 2 TV's/360 etc?

Cheers.

Loving this in MP :D

FAMAS/M16 are beastly :O
And Barrett w/ ACOG also feels like hax on most maps.

Am i the only one who feels like theres a lot of medium range combat in MW2 compared to 1? and not an awful lot CQC and LR?

my class of doom atm,

L86
PP2000

Perk1 Bling pro (of slieght of hand pro)
Perk 2 Stopping power pro
perk 3 steady aim pro

Semtex

attachments with bling vary from Grip + holo sight to FMJ + holo sight (purely to get mastery atm)
when using sleight of hand i have just a sight

it is a awesome gun imo plus its british army :P (i wanted a l85 in this game tho :()

Anyone killed someone with a flash greande? I somehow did it earlier, threw one into a room and boom it killed someone. I didn't even realise it was possible! This was online btw.

This tbh. I never look at the players level anymore. In MW1, i did prestige once so my logo changed only once, but yet i still was a hell of a lot better than most people with the golden cross thing (whatever the final prestige logo was). Level doesn't mean anything in this game imo.

Just means you have lots of spare time.
