my only gripe is online, i've been concentrating on sinlge player for every half hour i spend on it, now when i start playing online, there seems to be no matched games to speak of, for example, i'm only just level 6, yesterday i was level 3 but every single person in the same match was lot higher level than me, i think the lowest was level 25, obviously with much better weapons too.

There's no need to match ranks. There's not enough difference in the weapons to warrant it.

In which case, why is matchmaking by level going to solve the problem when your level is merely an indicator of how long you've been playing the game?
It's not like the mechanics are so ground-breaking you're at a disadvantage if you've not played it for the same amount of time as somebody else.

ya yr right, id love to load it up for the first time, get dumped into a server with a load of lvl25-50's who all know the maps, calling in all kinds of bs deathstreak fatalities...thats really newb user friendly!

Just been kicked from a lobby because I got the winning kill in a S&D match to win 4-0.
Saw a guy run past but I didn't kill him so I lobbed a frag over the building to where I knew he had to be and ran to cut him off. The grenade bounced off a roof and landed beside him.
They got ****ed.

First time i picked up the game i was thrown in with at least half the people level 25+.
Didn't stop me from coming top...

How did you get kicked?
it's not just that though, it's likely these lvl 25's and above are going to know the maps much better too

So play some more and learn the maps, just like they did
I'm 43 and still don't have an amazing knowledge of the maps (Karachi in particular, can never quite decide on a route through that one
)

Lobby host can kick.
Theres a learning curve with every game though.
In MW2 at Lvl 1 you start off with some pretty decent levels (eg the LMG with dot sight and grip; the sniper with heartbeat sensor and stealth perks), which makes sure you can have good play with higher levelled people.
