Hi,
I've just received a Samsung Spinpoint F3 1Tb from another seller. I'm a bit concerned because this thing is making one hell of a racket.
You can literally feel the vibrations through the floor around it (even on thick carpet), and its making a deep humming sound thats making me feel somewhat sick and can be heard (and felt) from the other side of the room. It basically feels like the thing is spinning at full pelt continuously.
Just as a point of comparison, my WD Velociraptor is inaudible and gives off no noticeable vibrations in my CM-690 case. When i take this F3 out, silence falls upon the room and the case stops throbbing.
Is this right? Should this drive be that noisy? Or has something gone boink either before or after entering Royal Mail's hands?
