A commute that short would kill a Tuscan as it'd not get chance to warm up properly. I'd expect it'd have a pretty bad effect on most other sporty cars too.
I'm liking the look of the Elise. It's just that bit cooler than a VX220.
Obviously I need to drive them both.
I appreciate these might seem daft, but what would you prefer, another post with exactly the same 2 seat sports car suggestion? Driving fast is against the law - so why not have some legal fun. I like to think outside the box.
Selling the Golf already?
My choices for a fun car with low mileage requirements extend to porsches only, namely a Boxster 987, or a 911 996 (The route i went).
Could get a nice M3 too.....

I then drove the Elise 111R and bought it. They're far, far better than the VX in my opinion (looks, handling, power delivery)
Ultimately a tuned VXT would be faster but it's not like the 111R is a slouch anyway (4.9 secs 0-60)

Bit boring though? Would he delibrately want to wake up early on a Sunday to go drive an.. RX-8?
LOL at the RX8 being 'not wildly different to a S2000'Hence the use of the words, 'the sensible option might be....'
But in terms of fun factor, it's not wildly different to a S2000 or 350Z.

Hadn't even considered Porsches as I just assumed that I couldn't get anything decent for my budget. But will look at those and M3s, thanks.
another vote for supra can get some very decent examples for your budget.
