Did you get attatched to your first cars?

Yes, put a lot of time into it.

Was literally nearly in tears when I crashed it, still not had a car with the same 'attachment'.

I miss my Cooper compared to my sprite, purely because it was a bit quicker, although I could easily sort that out if I put the time and money into it.... The Sprite handles much better and runs much nicer though, something was a bit off with that Cooper :p

VW Beetle 1200 absolutely loved that car
yup, bought my mx-5 when i was 18 saved up for ages to buy it, still have it 7 years later :D

Kudos chaps, very cool cars.

I think it looks like there are three camps to fall into:

1) Cool first car - do miss it, it was cool!
2) Default/boring first car - never missed it, as i've moved onto better cars!
3) Default/boring first car - do miss it, i've driven next to bugger all since!

I miss my 106 badly. Definitely will be owning a well sorted one in the future.
Please say it was an XSi, GTi or Rallye & not some 1.1lt tin-can!

I had to make do with a 1.0 for a few years :o. Then I got my hands on an XSi :D

Still regret selling really, was such an awesome drive. Think I'd like a 1.3 rallye next if I got one.

Nope, I stuck my heart and soul into it, spent hours working on that little golf, drove it everywhere, gave it so much crap and it just took it. I don't miss it at all *sniff* :(

I love my bora though, soon as i get a remap i'm probably going to end up in a ditch, really need to be more careful with it, loving the extra power mind.

I get attached to all my old cars, and miss them all at various points, with the possible exception of my Rover 214 (was an absolute workhorse though).

I'm soooooo tempted to treat myself to a totally standard S1 Rallye, an absolutely awesome car!

This is why I miss my 2nd car... Saxo VTR, you know why :p
Amen to that brother! Theres no bull-shiz with them, get in, rev the nuts off, no driver-g'aids, good steering, just enough grunt & grip, lift-off-oversteer - epic fun.

That, and with the right driver they easily keep up with two 172 cups over the Yorkshire moors ;)

Yep

Snap! I took mine on a 6000 mile tour of Europe. At one point I drove it for 18 hours on the trot, stopping only for petrol, most of it with the pedal to the floor and therefore doing about 65-70mph. It did break down twice. The first time I was able to fix it myself, despite being inept at that sort of thing, with nothing more than a Haynes manual to guide me. The second time a mechanic sorted it out in a matter of minutes and charged me about fiver. On the way home one cylinder stopped firing properly but it still managed to limp the last 800 miles or so. They don't make cars like they used to...

Where's the fun in that? :D

Part of me agrees, I had more fun driving the lolvo 850 to the alps and back than I did my 330d to Slovakia and back (the volvo that broke down before we had even done 50 miles in the UK :D), not knowing if we would make it was quite hilarious!

I'm still on my first car, a 1.4 8v Clio, slow as hell and boring. But at least it's been reliable and cheap, can't wait until I can replace it and don't think I'll miss it in the slightest. Will probably give it to the girlfriend though.
