What next?

Break into her house at night, drag her out of bed, force her to strip naked, then taser her till she can't move, then dump her in a cold shower.

Just another headline grabbing story from the US :(

On the face of it, it seems ridiculous, tasering a child for any reason. But then I wasn't there... and this never ha... sorry wrong film.

There are just so many unknowns here, the article gives a very 2 dimensional picture. We don't know if the kid has mental issues, has a history of harming her mother/herself/other people. It's America, the girl could be 6ft tall and built like a pro footballer. Okay, I'm taking the mick a bit, but the mother could be a 15yr old junkie, unable to parent an egg etc etc.

Yes it sounds crazy. Yes I am dumbfounded that the copper tasered her, am I surprised this has happened in the US? Not much.

We live in a time where parents/schools/adults in general aren't allowed to discipline kids. Kids are being wrapped in cotton wool and not given the room or tools to try and standup for themselves or think for themselves.

Its a sad time.

If an adult was kicking and screaming at the american police they could reasonable expect to be forcibly restrained, threatened at gunpoint and tased.

Just because she was 10 doesn't mean they can't inflict damage, you ever seen what a kid really biting someone is like? If the kid was out of control, which it sounds like then I don't see a problem with this.

Dude. Seriously?

Surely though, given that adults can be just as idiotic, we should be hitting/beating/tasering them as well?

I read this on Shortnews the other day and it said she kicked the officer in the nuts and he put the taser on a low setting.

That's OK then!

Oh wait, no it's not.

Why the hell a police officer was there in the first place is a mystery. It only gets worse from there.

Why the mother allowed or even asked the police to do this is a mystery.

Maybe she should not have children in the first place?

I do not harm my 12 year old daughter, and there is no way i would let anyone else assume control, by ANY means.

if she has emotional and anger issues and was acting as in the report then she deserved it. failure of parents to provide consistent parenting while growing up perhaps, parents are too soft. hate all this "they're not bad just , misunderstood" rubbish, I used to get a good hiding if I did anything wrong, as it should be.

I totally agree with this and I to would have got the same, my mum didn't take any lip from me and even now I still no better than to answer her back.

Mother is a massive failure.

The police failed way more than the mother.. the mother clearly doesn't know how to be a good mother. But the police should know how to do their job without shocking a 10 year old.

These hardcore American officers can't even handcuff a 10 year old?

They had to resort to using a taser and their defence was they were worried about breaking the girls arm?

lol

Heads will surely roll for this and rightly so.

So a police officer was going to force a 10 year old girl to shower in front of him, until she put up too much of a fight so he tasted her....

Juts me or does there seem to be a bigger problem than just the taser.

If it was a 16 year old teenager kicking off at a cop would you object to them being tasered if they being violent and verbally abusive?

No, in the same way I wouldn't mind them tasing a heavy weight boxer resisting arrest but i would have a problem with them tasing a 90 year old woman.

A sixteen year old will have considerably more strength than a 10 year old.
