Porsche 997 GT3 R

My word, that is confussing.

I knew these type's of races had different classes in a single race but didn't realise how many flavours of 911's there is :p

Porsche are not alone. Aston Martin dont really change the look of their cars either and why should they? If it worked the first time round then it will always work! Changing the shape would move away from the classic look

You too.....wow, I mean wow.

It's hard to tell on a forum if you don't use some sort of emoticon, i apologise.

I was regurgitating the sort of things one reads and hears all the time about the 911 from the hard of understanding, which is even more stark when you look at the car above. No need to apologise, I took no offence and am not a big fan of smiley things....it makes it to obvious.

The Cup S (or GT3 R as it is now known) is predominantly intended for the amatuer racer, hence the driver aids & not the 'professional' circuit...but it wouldn't bloody suprise me if it pops up!!!

Only the GT3 Cup (in one make series & ALMS challenge) & the GT3-RSR (in ALMS GT & LMS GT2 class) will be 'professionally' raced.

makes sense

when it said "based on the GT3 regulatios" i thought it meant it was going to be racing in the "GT3" challenge class in the various le mans series, that the cup racers currently race in.

Put the kettle on as this is slightly confusing - but here goes!

*ALMS - American Le Mans Series 2009
Is based in America using two categories Le Mans prototypes (LMP1 & LMP2 class) & GT cars (GT1 & GT2 class) & also the new Challenge Class.
LMP1 = Acura, Lola
LMP2 = Acura, Lola
GT= Corvette C6-R, Saleen S7-R
GT2 = Ferrari F430 GT2, Porsche GT3 RSR
Challenge Class = Porsche GT3 Cup <---- here are your Cup cars.

Except the Saleen never really made it to GT2, which left Corvette on their own.

Halfway through the season they abandoned GT1 and ran a ZR1 based GT2 car in preparation for 2010 where the GT1/GT2 divide has gone totally to be replaced with a GT class based on GT2 regs. (why bother have a class with only one participant anyway)

Looks like every other 911, Porsche need to make a new model, this will be boring like every other 911, common as muck these, not impressed.

I know...not really impressed at all about it...i mean its only a 911...very boring and bland looking..:p:D

Wow that sounds sublime and looks awesome...id sell my whole family for one of those:D

/me goes off to find out how much he can get for his mother on the black market:o:cool:
